These are rumours from Stickmonkey posted on BOLS.And a few extra rumours regarding the release schedule.I got to get a good look at a new protoype basic sister, and I'm hoping one of our other sources can sneak a picture out once they see it. The reason is, this sister has a "veil". Words cannot describe...the detailing is phenomenal. The veil is a separate piece, but it looks gorgeous. If they can get this right in molding the sisters wave will be beautiful models. If you've seen this one, you know what I mean... I begged to take a photo for here, but no luck.
The model maintains the existing armor styling, but with more filigree. Little details like lace boot tops, small details in the armor. Look at the evolution of daemonettes to wyches, and think what the next step would be.
The bolters however are now streamlined, they are not the marine bolter we've known and loved, but still recognizable. Feminine.
I know I'm getting folks worked up, but sisters are still a long way off, it will be a long wait. So temper any enthusiasm.
So to clarify a few bits.
The lace, is not laces, its lace around the top of the boot. at the knee. the model has like a pirate style boot and the lace is around the top edge..or thats my take away of what it was.
The bolter is still most certainly a bolter, but look at the existing line, the bolters are disproportioned...especially the bolt pistols...to the models. the new ones are much more like the AoBR SM bolters. With straps, etc. and are separate pieces from arms. they "look" slighty thinner than a SM bolter and have a different shape to the over all gun, but they are not "Girly" i did not have a SM handy to compare directly, so it could just be impression. Also, they have abandoned the banana clip completely it seems.
the veil covered the whole head, its an alternate to the helmet, the face piece is just separate. think cobra commander vs vera wang wedding.
the torso has small details in the corset, i think skulls.
the tabard between the legs had flur de lis details.
there are "sleeves" similar to the image on 19 of the current WH book. similar, but not identical.
I'll reiterate this is a prototype though, not what has necessarily been approved. But as a beta stage model, i really like it, and I think a teaser of it would really build up excitement...hint hint GW overlords... Maybe wait til closer to release...
Overall when i see the current sisters their are very "bulky" these new ones are very graceful, but in a brutal way. the poses are much more dynamic and agressive. not everyone has their feet planted shoulder width apart torso straight on to their opponents....
I was told there will be numerous head options for the sisters, in the way theyve been doing all releases, but the "bob cut" is the preferred hairstyle.
I'm also told sisters repentia, priests, celestians, and seraphim will get new models with seraphim likely to adopt jump packs similar to the sanguinary guard...though I saw no evidence of this. No word on arco flaggelants.
Penitent engine is getting reworked as well.JvKMy sources are saying GK may be much later this year. Sources say that because the DE release was so successful, that's why we are seeing a shuffling to get more DE models out sooner. More a financial decision than production from what I'm hearing. Hope it's not true.
On the Tau front, sources say ethereals will have a much bigger presence on the battle field and new roles to fill.
On the necron front, sources say the dead will rise when the souls come out to play this year.
On the SM front, Woe be the small pale man who ignores the ides of march, especially when they come early.
On the sisters front, women in armor move slower than men, but they look better doing it. Sisters like their rides.
This is something to really wait for. Metal sisters annoy me so much that I don't really use my Witchhunters much these days, but new models and the new codex that is bound to come with are a good reason to keep a couple of hundred quid spare....
I'm surprised I haven't really heard much visa-vie Tau or Necrons, Your Grey Knights thread interests me greatly, if there is no shrouding then I've just found myself some very expensive target practise >=)
Seriously though, I've been waiting for Tau and Witchhunters rumours for ages, good to finally hear any type of news.
Pursued Guard Regiment Fluff WIP - http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ial-fluff.html
That's quite a lot of interesting news! Thanks for passing this on to us, JvK
A shame he couldn't get that picture, the new models sound interesting. Haven't quite got my head around how this veil would look but the other changes sound interesting. Seeing Sisters as an individual army as opposed to 'female space marines' will be cool.
Awsome stuff regarding the sisters, they sound fantastic. But its this that has me intrigued... what does it mean???On the SM front, Woe be the small pale man who ignores the ides of march, especially when they come early.
The small pale man... would seem to be ravenguard, and if im right the ides of march were cursed days for romans (?) which sounds more DA... very mysterious. More RG forge world stuff?
That or im just reading WAY too much into that
Your friendly neighbourhood gargantuan creature
i believe i have figured out the riddle posted by stickmonkey stated as follows: On the necron front, sources say the dead will rise when the souls come out to play this year.
i think that this means the necrons will be the next codex because as my son pointed out to me, the Dark Eldar use souls to power various abilities and units.
but, maybe i am just blindly hoping for the necron codex.
You might be correct about the Eldar, just not what you are thinking...........................wait out, I still need to confirm.
actually i think it means they are being released in october as it would be Halloween which would be when the souls would come out to play. besides Halloween is the perfect time for robot skeletons.
me personally wants MOAR Tau and Dark eldar.
perhaps it means about regular eldar since they have wraithbone constructs powered by souls (wraithguard and wraithlords) though i dont know when they come out to play... :p
Maybe hinting at the long rumoured plastic wraithguard...
No bikini bitz for the sisters models? Damn you GW, why don't you realise what we really want?!
Just kidding ( sort of.. it's not like they're unattractive or anything.. ). I wouldn't mind the sisters of battle models to get some more female allure, like the new dark eldar have. It would do wonders to their entire model range. With GW's progress in making models in the recent years the models can potentially be mindblowing. Let's see wether GW has finally uncovered the big secret of sex-sells
