so apparently the codex was leaked as a pdf and i read it this afternoon. i have heard of armies being broken but this is f-ing stupid. they are literally ruining 40k with the "one-up" mentality that they are showing. so here are a few things that stood out that annoyed me.
khaldor drago- same point cost as the sanguinor has a strom shield and a sword called the titan hammer. he is ind char and eternal warrior has as many wounds as a chapter master and his strenght and toughness are one more then a normal space marine. on top of this he is a psyker. he makes paladins troop choices. while i am on the topic of troop choices grey knight terms are solid troop choices for any build. they also have reg grey knights sqauds and this is the only 2 entries for troops in the whole codex.
next i move to the dreadknight....no armor value..it has as many wounds as a chapter master its strenght and toughness is 1 higher then a chapter masters WS. also is has a 2+ 4+.
finally i add this biggest horse of all...vindicare assasin has an ap 1 36 inch sniper rifle. it has a shield breaker attack that effectively removes the inv save of what ever model he shoots at for the entire game...so lysander takes a hit and loses his 3 up inv. the he has a shot that does 2 wounds per shot. now where did i see a limit for these rounds and how many can be shot. so once per turn you pick a round and pick apart an army. \
there was alot of other CHESSE ON TOAST in it if anyone has a question on point costs and what not ask an i will try my hardest to post without breaching rules.

Well... You can't take "leak" to be the truth (Not too early to say it isn't the real deal but it might be an elaborate hoax).
Draigo - With that many goodies thats an appropriate points cost - more or less. These things you've listed sum up the rumors pretty well. Unless the cost of Paladins is less than stated in the rumor thread made by JvK this isn't that big of deal.
Dreadknight - Again, sums up the rumors. 2+/4+ with good S/T won't be that bad. Plasma/Melta/Lascannons, etc will enjoy omnomnoming this unit.
Vindicare - It's a vindicare, this is supposed to be how it is. Don't like him? Kill him, its only one model.
The sky isn't falling... GK need powerful stuff like this (more or less) to compensate for the elite nature of the army. It will just take (a short amount of) time to counter everything in the new book.
while i dont agree with you i hope you are right. oh and vehicles have a power called fortitude which allows the driver to take a psychic test and ignore stunnned and shaken

The Vindicare has to play like this...You get you are complaining about a model that is going to kill 2 or 3 models all game? One Shot per turn, that is likely going to wound on 4. I know there will probably be a 2+ to wound option, be he also can't shoot guys in vehicles and doesn't ignore cover. Not super scary if you have played the old one.

I dont think thats too bad considering how expensive points wise they are rumoured to be. also with the assassin he is supposed to be that good otherwise he wouldnt be an assassin, he would just be a guy with a sniper rifle. and if you still dont like it, use Ork tactics (SHOOT DA CLOBBERY STUFF, AND CLOBBER DA SHOOTY STUFF!)
Its not broken. I have playtested the new rules, using the information I have obtained and I can tell you it is not an easy army to use right. You will be outnumbered and on several ocasions you will be outgunned as well. I played the list against Tyranids, Dark Eldar, Space Wolves and Imperial Guard and it is powerful if used correctly but will get annihilated if you throw them into combat unsupported. Also any units you lose hurts you bad as you do not have many of them.
If rules alone made a Codex Broken folks would be crying for a C'Tan nerf. The fact is points costs and unit synergy go a long way to determining the power of a Codex.
Calm the nerdrage for now, please.
RecklessFable's Journey to Mediocrity (Painting an IG army)
I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
Very ReckessFable. When a new codex comes out everybody tends to do one of two things they either cries cheese and starts whinging how they are never going to win a game against that army because it is so broken and overpowered or they cry how their army has been nerfed and is not uber enough for them mainly because they cannot stand loosing.
What people tend to forget is that the list will have been playtest extensively, I know how the process works quite well and over a thousand gaming hours will have been put into each codex getting the balance right against every kind of army out there without changing how the army is supposed to work. It is a painstaking process. Yes certain units such as paladins and purifiers are powerful, but they are expensive and left unsupported by other units will get cut down very quickly.
To echo what RecklessFable said...............Calm it down already!
"Holy bearded meta cheesy min-maxed deathstar list Batman!"
In reality as people have said, it's looking like you get what you pay for with GK. The Vindicare isn't that different from his previous iteration either.
Personally I think they sound like fun, but then I already have a load of GKs so I'm bound to say that
Same here. I will only need to get another stormraven and some dreadknights.
