Rumours is floating around that 6. edition of 40k soon will arrive.
By pathyphon on Blood of kittens :Salt needed.the ”Bombshell” I really need to use better wording…
”By the end of the next Olympics we will treated to 6th ed Warhammer 40k”
Now that is something that people that follow GW trends have suspected for awhile. So really that is not that earth shattering. What makes 6thed potentially earth shattering is the version of AoBR we will get. For the first time ever neither Xenos, the Warriors of Roboute Guilliman, or the Sledgehammer of the Emperor will be chosen to fill the starter box.
What that means well all of us will have to wait to find out…
But how about DA/BA/BT vs CSM ? Or Grey knights vs demons ?
That's 18 months away...
The editions since 3rd have been 4 years apart, and 2nd was only 1 year different so I wouldn't really be that surprised. I expect this is why BT and DA have recently had a FAQ boost, because they won't be getting a new codex this edition. We've Necrons, Tau, Craftworld Eldar, Witch Hunters, Chaos Daemons, CSM and Orks to go.
At roughly 3 per year we can expect 4-5 new books before then - I expect Orks will get the first of the 6th, Daemons shortly after, which hopefully means everyone else will get a new book pretty soon
If I'm honest, i don't see any need to bring in a new edition. I can see no problems in this one that need fixing so desperately that we need a new edition.
Mind you, they're probably doing it for the money...
I don't see them making a new Daemons book for quite a while, it isn't even that old.
It's not that old NOW, but give it 18 months and a new edition...Originally Posted by TheShad0w

Didn't Games Workshop promise that every army would get a new codex for 5th ed. before 6th was even considered? I thought this was being done so that 5th would be more like the successful 3rd ed and less like the fiasco of 4th ed.
