Will Dark Angels Suffer With The New Sm Codex

I have heard that the new SM codex has almost the same things Dark Angels speical bonus and abilites for a new made up chapter.Heard tactical squads can take plasma cannons now...*****.That's like a instult to the DA,and other rumor is made up chapters can take stubborn....***** another Instult to the DA.They need to make a new codex for the Dark Angels.Like they should have two plasma cannons or cheaper plasma cannons at like 5 pts.Stuboorn is more expensive for the made up chapters.

Dark Angels will have their own codex in the near future. I was informed at a GW Seminar I attended at gamesday, that the dark angels will be getting thier own full sized codex, ie one that requires no referencing back to the space marine codex.

Any confirmation on the date when these codex's will be released and will all of the 4 be released at the same time.

Full sized codex you mean the same size of the 2nd edition we have now size or SM codex size like big.Because there is loads of fluff and it will be nice if they had all that in there.So is this near future will be like 2005 or 2006

I heard that the new space wolves codex was going to be full size, ie spacewolves codex can work all by itself without having to use the SM codex and probably has loads of fluff in.
also the codex was going to be released at around christmas.
-however this was all from a guy that works at the gw store, so no one get your hopes up. it probably means a smaller stand-alone codex released in june. :glare:

I was told about the full codicies by Jes Goodwin at the 40k seminar at UK gamesday, and I'm sure he knows more than most about the space marine situation.

As for date of release, I havent heard anythign from anyone, but i wouldnt hold your breath.

Yes, ordinary tactical squads can now have plasma cannons.
But in the new dark angels codex the following will be revealed:
A new DA dreadnought (the name eludes me):
Will have 4, yes 4 weapons. Standard fit will, I believe, be 2 misslie launchers. You may then attach additional weapons on top of these. Please note this is DA dread only, and it sucks in CC.

Colonel the dread you are talking about i believe is the Mortis pattern Dreadnaght however if i recall the Mortis is basicaly a regular dread except you may equip each hand with a gun so for example you could have two twinlinked lascannons, two assault cannons, two missile lanchers etc
