I dropped into my local GW today, and yes, was shown (on the site) the paint bundle. Here in Aussie it is $870, but the GW employee was quick to point out that it came with a free army case. I'm loathe to spend more than $20 on paints at one time, let alone almost nine hundred dollars.

They had some on show, with which you could test, and I must say, I do like them.

The white base (ceramic I believe) has total coverage when put over black, no more millions of coats.
The Dry ones have almost no moisture in them whatsoever, meaning no more streaky dry brushing.
The shades fill gaps, but don't coat higher areas very much.
The glazes will coat evenly, more being used to slightly change the colour of the surface, doesn't pool in gaps so much like shades do.
The textures are pretty self evident.

Nothing to buy in store, was told would be on sale in store on the 7th of April.

May the Dragon of Unhappiness never fly up your bottom.

    "delete my rant comment"

just gotta say I'm So glad I still have my mega paint set from 5 years ago that was only 70 US dollars and came with full brush set and basing stuff.

IMO if GW wants to make money they should just sell army theme paint sets, all the base colors you need to paint X army for like 25 to 3o bucks.

Also having war-band set of rules inter-graded into both their 2 major games would be nice because it would allow new people get into the game for cheap and allow existing players to try out more armies.

sorry for ranting its like 4am here, damn insomnia

Yeh i agree chargeing £333 for 145 paints is mad and then saying you get a free army case just seems insulting,
yes if you do the sums and see 1 pot is £2.30 so 145 is in £333 and yes you would need something to put them in ie army case, but no one will need all 145 paints right now.
And GW will never release army specific paint sets because the point is its your hobby, your army and your paint scheme and and paint set for each army in GW opinion is telling you how that army is to be painted.
Also as far as GW in concerned they do have war band themed games from both fantasy and 40K universes,
    Necromunda
    Mordheim
although new players never hear about them because why would GW tell you to pay £80 to get into the hobby when they can get you to pay £200

just saying, if you dont want the big paint set, here is a wild and crazy idea, ready? Don't buy it......thats it! you dont have to bitch and complain about it. Its not like they are charging an extra dollar per paint, its the exact cost of all the paints seperately, plus a freaking FREE army case!! How is this a bad thing and being compared to women being raped? Its good for people who say, only paint models and dont play the game, or just for people who have a spare $900 sitting around and likes the new paints. I love the new paints, got into the local GW and tried them out, the base white blew my mind and the texture paints will save me from my most hated part of the hobby.......basing. Sorry for the rant, just sick of people bitching without end about GW. Yeah, they screw up alot, but then they finally do something oh so right, and you guys still find something to complain about!! but, it is the internet, so....

I would suggest you think about what you have typed before you press send, comparing paints on any issue to rape is just ridicules, other areas of the net my except that sort of thing but this is a family site.

Overall however I do agree with your argument but also everyone else, don't see point on buying it, however no need to moan just don't buy, money speaks louder than words. I will just continue buying cheaper and better quality paints from else where.

Just want to point out that baruthulous87 is not the one making any comparisions to inappropriate subjects in fact he was complaining about a comment made earlier in the thread,
And yes if people dont like the prices then they shouldnt buy them, for me my frustration is the fact that I love the new paints and would love nothing more than to buy them all but I cant afford to which is annoying but it wont stop me buying Gw products it just annoys me because its a limited time offer so I know ill miss out on it

edited my comment from early, sorry if some found my comment to be rather off-color. It just perturbs me with the price gouging GW loyal fan base.

I understand "you don't like don't buy it argument" it just seems proactive move in keep new people away because big price tags do scare people away.

but on topic was I glad they are keeping the quality of there paints up, I still think GW has the best metal color paints out there.

also for general knowledge the privateer press paints are really nice and mix well with GW paints.

And now the wait begins. Curious as to whether or not my local store will take in the new paints, or continue to sell the old one he's had the last 5 years before he orders new ones..

tried out some of the new paints and the white is... wow.
it will go straight onto a black undercoat and in one solid layer and the glazes are interesting, i only got to try a green glaze but it did make the elf i was using look different.
