Eldar Rumors

Saw some Rumors on Bell of Lost Souls, I don't remember the Original Poster. I didn't see mention of it elsewhere on LO.

One said that We are getting a new Eldar codex around the Fall of this year. The other said that the release scheduled is as follows; Chaos, 6thed, Dark Angels with Eldar and Tau next year (2013).

There's already a thread about rumours for Craftworld Eldar, and as has been seen in the Chaos, Craftworld Eldar, Black Templar and Tau rumour threads, that release schedule changes at the drop of a hat. According to JvK, the release schedule is only set in stone for 3 months in advance, so anything beyond that is pure conjecture. Otherwise, we'd have already had Chaos and Black Templar released, with 6th Edition and then Tau following soon after. Because that's what the rumour mill said in Nov 2011, but we ended up with Vampire Counts and the second wave of Tyranids and such.

While I'd be extremely giddy with Eldar by fall, there is much more evidence of Dark Angels and Chaos up next. I would imagine Eldar being closer to fall 2013 with Tau in the spring.

I can't believe they'd make Tau players wait another year for a new codex! I don't even play Tau, but I feel for all the poor Tau players who might as well shelve their army because their codex is so out of date!

Thats true. Tau suffer alot and I was hoping for the book this year. It does get annoting when youve got an army that is very hard to use that it makes it no fun. I literally get steam rolled by everything, it used to be me doing the steam rolling . Same with bretonians in WFB though.

I think that the Eldar and Tau will be next year as this year still has DA, CL, 6th ED and Cron second wave.

however if you believe those pesky Mayans then we will never get any new Tau

The Eldar Codex is only 8 months newer than Tau. They're pretty equal as far as competitiveness and builds.

I'm sorry, was that sarcasm? The Eldar are still a very viable army, while the Tau, just simply are not.

There are competitive builds for Tau however they require a lot of skill to use effectively and a lot of new players will find that the learning curve is a bit too steep for their liking.
