ikbuh - The gryphon is big because its not like the ones you find and tame in the wild, like the High Elve. Its an Imperial Gryphon, born and raised in the Imperial Zoo, they are stronger an tougher than their wild counterparts, thats why they are bigger. I really love it, and think its (along with another 5 models, lol) the best model GW has made....EVER!! It makes me want to steal the ticket from the little b*****d in Last Action Hero, so I could go into The Indian in the Cupboard and use that to bring it to life!

Its a really nice model I will agree there, saw it up close today and I was really impressed. Just got the book myself so I can best know how to use my Chaos Warrior army to crush the weak and puny men of the southern lands of course, not because I am tempted to get an army of Talabheim .
Got to say there are some really potent magic item combos between this book and the rulebook. I can see a Grandmaster with Runefang and The Other Trickster's Shard being a popular choice as you have a model that has four attacks which automatically wound, ignore armour saves and force successful ward saves to be re-rolled, combined with a decent initiative I can see him being potent in a challenge..........good thing chaos lords have a higher initiative.
