I think the wings are for stability rather than lift!

Aside from the box nosed cockpit and the larger than life gun mounted on its back the thunderhawk seems capable of flight,whereas the stormchicken and the stormchick do not.
Though my opinion is that except from the last one from FW(dont remember the name now) the whole space marine aircraft department, is an utter failure design wise.

Sad to say, it looks really kinda cool from the back end... The front looks alot better with the guns placed closer in, still funny, but LOTS better.
