Welcome to Librarium Online!
i heard a rumor that codex mars is going to be released where the machine god is awakened and mars is split in 2, followers of the emperor and followers of the machine god, apparently there is going to be some weaponry new to 40k, can anybody validate these rumors ?
huh? never heard anything about that. although new weapons would be really awesome. we havn't had new weapons for a while. (i mean vastly new ones, not just catellan missiles)

That would be cool, but i heard that the Machine God is actually a C'tan. Read the Necron codex, and it talks about how one of the other two C'tan is on a red forge-world (ring any bells?)

I'm not big on fluff but the red shirts in the GW store near my house were talking about the next campaign being on mars. Something about necrons landing on the planet mars, whitch they said was stupid because mars is one of the most well deffenced planets.
hmmmmmmmmmmm, all seems to fit into place doesnt it
1) First off, I havent heard ANYTHING about a "codex mars" and I would find such a codex unlikely. There is of course Codex: Xeno Hunters which will (hopefully) bring some new weaponry to 40K
2) OMG Teh CtAn Is Teh MaChInE GoDZ! Oh, and OMGOMG Teh Ctan Iz Teh ElDaR LaugHinG GoD!!!1!!!one!!!!!eleven!!!1!!
*Ahem* Sorry, but these comments seem to develop into long drawn-out wars of "yes he is" "no he isnt" and this isnt the thread for such discussion.
((/me thinks the C'Tan are a stupid idea altogether and Necron 2nd Edition fluff was much better))
3) The next 40K campaign is "The Taros Campaign" is it not? Being run more closely with ForgeWorld than previous campaigns.
There is talk of a campaign being set on mars in the distant future.. but I personally doubt there will ever be a 'codex: mars' as in a Adeptus Mechanicus army. Here's why.
1) The real military power of the AM is in the Titan legions. Not everyone can buy 5 forgeworld titans to make one.
2) The other half of the AM military forces, Skitarii, are perfectly doable under existing Imperial Guard rules. After all, they're just cyber-guardsmen in big robes.
As for whether the Dragon is on mars.. the answer is 'maybe', we don't know. All will be revealed in time, I'm sure.
Personally I say the machine god is simply the embodiment of Adeptus Mechanicus technosophy fused with the beliefs of Imperial Cult.
But that doesn't stop the dragon being on Mars.
Heh, though it would be cool for machine lovers (But you notice taht is not many) i seriously doube the mars campaign. I say do not keep your hopes high at all? Not enough people to make such massive wide campaign. Not enough people interested.
And it does not seem factual to realease a brand new army not on the agenda. As many need revamping right now.
When we are talking about campaign. I am thinking of Ordos Xenos busting out on the campaign just like Ordo Malleus came out to fight in the Eye of terror. Seeing how Black templars are coming out November. It would make sense to test the metal of Black Templars be releasing the revamped version of ORKs. When all hell breaks loose. Eldar comes out to join the fight too. Tyranids join the fight and much much more xenos. Oh no everyone says.
Then the Ordo Xenos comes and takes care of the job... .
AM would require an existing army as a 'base' army. But plainly designing a whole brand new one, that is definetly a 'No'. Until the revamps are fulfilled and the AlienHunters come out.
I agree with "Murekhalir", they won't realise other army till they have updated the current armies. I did hear though from a red shirt something about necrons landing on mars or something, didn't make sence to me though. I thought mars was one of the most heavliy defended planets. O yeah, what is the Ordos Xenos?
