Its not much of a give away but I have been told by GW staff that in the new dwarf army book there will be the option to take Ironbreakers and longbeards as core units and that the new rules make Dwarves even more dangerous on the battlefield. He actually used the word 'beardy' in reference to them being better, but i think he was just having a pun about dwarves.
He also showed me a photo of the new bolt thrower model and it looks very dwarven, loads of pistons and mechanical detail
He then run through the release schedule for the new army range. The schedule the first week in january with the battalion box set and the new army book, so if you were hopeing santa would be good to you, think again.
I saw a few new dwarf models in the latest White Dwarf, I really liked the Engineer with the mechanical warhammer, it looked sweet. I didn't much like the Cannon though, it looked a bit small and puntzy. Don't dwarves know the bigger the wamachine the better?
Haven't they seen the Brettonian trebuchet? Not bad for a first attempt at a warmachine. The dwarfs have been doing it for a millenia, and they make crappy little cannons with no grounding. The recoil would be terrible!
As for longbeards and Ironbreakers being core troops, that would be pure cheese. Like a WHFB deathwing army. Minus the assault cannons...
on the UK GW website there is info on the army deal (out in december) as well as pics of some of the new minis, the lords look very nice, as does the catapult thing (grudge bringer or something like that)
PLAN CLAN MAN!!
He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man- S. Johnson
The bigger the better?
I think dwarves themselves show that to be a faulty idea.
Kais Kauyon Tash'var Battle Record
Waaugh! Shizgrak Battle Record
It's not the size that counts, it's how you use it.
But I really hope the cannons are at least the size of Empire ones.

Member of the Canadian Clan, eh.
Mech Tau Cadre: 2000 points, needs paint and magnets.
Paladins of Avalon (SW):-1500 points, needs paint.
All I can think about new Dwarfs is:
I hope they are gonna get new slayer models. MAN, those axes they have now are way too fat and really stupidly shaped. I expect more from an ancient Dwarfen blacksmith.

it looks like the cannon is plastic. good it wont break so easy. I knocked my one off the table once. I never found the barrel again
Also with the slayers aparently they are changing the feet position so they rank up more easily.
