The Necrons have little green rods that they put in their guns, my friend is painting his necrons with a scheme using blue. We heard that there was somewhere to get rods like that but of different colours.

I was wondering if anybody had any knowledge of that or if they had any ideas on converting something else that's blue to be the gun rods?

there are the lego rods you get for light sabers dont know if they're the right size though

Yeah lego is your best chance, or you could go an ask GW, forge would might have some.

Thanks, I know GW and Forge World don't have them but I'll have to try Legos. We have a bunch of old ones at the house, I'll have to look through them.

I found some yellow ones at my local store, they are the right width, but in long stips to be cut at the right size length. Perfect for the gold color scheme I'm planning. I think that you just need to go to some random stores, they might sell some blue colored plastic of the rigth size.

You could probably change the color on these yourself.

If you can't find anything, and I mean anywhere, here's what you do, get some plaster, and a make a mold of the rods, then once you're all done, destroy the molds (GW doesn't look too well on people who have made molds of their products, but hey, if they don't sell multiple colors, you may have to make it yourself.)

I'm not sure on what you could use for the plastic, the closest thing I can think of is plastic molding solution for making fishing bait, once you pour the liquid, add the hardener, and then dye it.

Other than that I can't think of anything.

it could work using watered down?

The lightsaber ones are good, if not bright enough. Some people jsut paint em and lose the transparency, i dunno. For the legos, btw, you would have to cut them down. Cutting may make these white marks on them, and that's bad.

you know those little plastic swords you stick thu cocktails those look ok and they can be found anywhere

If there is anyone around you that does glass work, you could probably commission them to make you some for a fee, they would be totally unique too, you could probably even get little swirls on them! think of the cool possibilities!!
