Welcome to Librarium Online!
Following in the footsteps of Lord of the Rings, it seem Games Workshop have cashed in on another major venture. There shall be a Narnia tabletop Wargame based not only upon the recent film but the books following it.
Using their new digital moulding technology they are confident that Narnia will rapidly expand to become a fourth core game.
At least that’s what I got from Warseer before the thread vanished, I can only presume Games Workshop wanted to keep this a surprise and sent out the lawyers, like they did with the Vespids so if this thread vanishes soon then please don’t blame the moderators.
Got a picture of one of the models before the thread vanished. Judge for yourself.
Oh god no, god no god no... please no.... please no please no.... there isnt anything to do!
What, there are like TWO armies in the books arent there?
Tau - Knights of the Frozen Wastes
Necrons - The Phalanx of Gleaming Death
CSM - Iron Warriors

goooood god say hello 40k and fantasy PRICE JUMP as this one bombs as well
Damn, that's insane. The book's were good and all but who the hel's gonna play the narnia wargame. They shouldn't even call it a wargame. Sure there's wars, but nothing in comparison to 40k or fantasy. And think about what they'll do to white dwarf. There might be less room for each part of the hobby, they might expand the mag and make it cost more money. Or the best thing they could do is to give LOTR and NARNIA players there own magazine. You'll probably go to your local gaming club and see 6 year olds playing on the limited number of tables that are there.
All in all, this is the craziest idea GW has ever devised and hope this a rumour or else!
In the name of everything good and holy no!!! I mean it could be kinda cool to see some of the models they would come up with, but on the whole it just wouldn't be worth it. Please please please please don"t do this GW. I would rather see new models and a crapload of crappy new races for worlds you actually made up than more junk from a book made into a movie.

1. could be specialist game.
2. in Narnia series there are about 6 or 7 books. haven't read them all but i know that there were other conflicts there too.
NO! NO! NO!
WHFB is practically the same, no ways this will be a game...at least it bettter not be!
It's been a minute.
a Narnia freeform chess game? (about all I can equate it to) come on GW, it's a bomb and you know it

Yeah, but there are only about 1 major battle a book. I mean, some of the books don't even have battles, The dawn treader has skirmishes, the magicians nephew has...well nothing. The horse and his boy also has nothing. Prince Caspian has a war that could be interestingm but even so, do I want to see badgers running around as medics? Short answer no, longs answer Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! ! Next up, the silver chair, also only minor skirmishes and maybe running away from giants and stuff (a good book but a terrible wargame). The last battle would work, but thats about it.Originally Posted by chrishin
So overall, there would be three real battles, count em, Three. Half the heroes would be kids with awful statlines (no matter what you do this kid isn't going to be able to stand up to much, I don't care what the movies say). Bah, added rant.
What I would like to see is some decent minotaur models, can we get that GW?

O M G. GW better not be smoking and doing that. That is extremely WRONG. We need some serious support down on our WH40k and WHFB sections ^.^. Not this other... movie to game adaptation... its useless~!
