Its alright as a vehicle in small games where there is little anti-armour firepower. At the same time however, it is still a light skimmer so it can be brought down as easily as vypers by massed normal firepower. (But five in a squad can be very evil if you arm them with FB's and decide to go hunting high priority targets or squads...)
Get into larger games and they are toast for the most part, but a skimmer is a skimmer regardless of what comes before that part of the name.

I thought it would be interesting to play an army w/ 15 Pirhanas.
yes it does look awsome...but dont you think its a little overpricey for that one small model? It should be an equivalent of a SM attack bike..$30, not friggin 40..rip off..though Id still get it, lol!
I just bought 3 yesterday for 49 euro
I had actually planned on buying myself a commander battlesuit.. but when I saw those lying on the stack of comics next to the new Aun'Va (ugh) I couldn't help myself.. I needed to take advantage of the 3 pack
And I'm quite happy, I love the models, they're actually the largest models I have.. which is kind of sad since I'm a nid army, but not even my 3rd edition carni is as long as the stupid thing..
I really like the models, no matter what they are.. and as they're plastic they're just itching to be converted.. I already flipped up my wings (No conversion necessary, just a tricky job of gluing)
and so rather than coming straight out from their connection to the main body of the skimmer, they're tilted up.. makes for a rather awkward drone position, but The overall effect is far better looking in my opinion..
You know what? They remind me of Pod racers, they even look the same.. that's where I must have gotten the idea for the flipped wings.. *laugh* sorry, I played Pod racer on the N64..
Neat little fish, cheap for 3 for $50 and actually decent units.. 3 fusion blasters mounted on light skimmers with 6 gun drones which can go out in a single squad.. Rather neat if you ask me, gives a lot of hassle for the enemy when you pop up behind his line and harassing his tanks and HQ with your pirahnas and drones respectively.
Yes, I think I will make a combat patrol with those sweet models. Fire Warriors, Devilfish, and then as many pirhanas as I can get! ^_^
sorry bout' that 25 is good, how many of those fishies can you have in an army? I wanna make an all Piranha army(15-20) with some battlesuits for support. no infatry or tank models..hehe..fast attack!!!!!!!!
