From another forum, reported:
"Dark Eldar will be a MAJOR redo, like the Wood Elves...so probably a while away. They like the ideas and concepts, but will relaunch from whole cloth"
I was thinking it would be a major redo also, as an explanation for why GW did not release a figure for Medusa V.
Shorter Version: DE are not dead.
Later in the thread a little more info:
"Dark Eldar who are in the 'Someday we'll get to them phase' like Wood Elves were for ages- and DE will be a complete redo like the WE, with loads of extra fluff that didn't fit in the original pamphlet sized armybook (current design is aimed at the full 96 (or whatever it is now) page books."
Finally something other than shady rumours and actually something thats says we are indeed being looked at all properly.
It is likely to take alot of time but I dont care, something is clearly happending.
Thanks for posting this.
""What's the matter? Don't ya like clowns? Don't we make ya laugh?" - Captain Spaulding.
Yeah, we need evidence. ;p
Maybe he was there?
I wasn't sure if it was okay to post the forum name.
It's in Warseer's News and Rumors forum: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35535
Most of the thread content is about the October Eldar release, just those two sentences on Dark Eldar.
And I was not at the GamesDay.
I believe the same thread also mentioned that nobody's in development is thinking about Dark Eldar right now - they are first concentrating on the Eldar, Dark Angel and Ork Codicies (in that order, it seems)
So assuming the rate of codexes released stays about the same (2.5 per year?), the order should be...
Tau (already out)
Eldar (coming soon)
Dark Angels (Xmas-ish is the best guess right now).
That question mark would be filled either by;
- Nothing (if the Dark Angels spill over into 2007)
- Ordo Xenos (like the Dark Eldar, they are on the list, but nothing serious has been done yet)
- Marines (Blood Angels would be the next marine codex according to rumours)
- Dark Eldar (we can only hope...)
As an aside, I have to say it's a little annoying that the oldest (and poorest) Codex currently available is also the one that is apparently last on the list.
