ive been playing warhammer 40k for a few months now so im kinda new, but most of my freinds use eldar and have been excited about the new dex. I read the first post twice and im starting to agree with sabe, it looks like there are very few nerfs and too many upgrades. Also with every nerf there is it gets canceled out with overwhelming upgrades. I no the SC going down to heavy 2 is a big nerf but it gets canceled out with reducing the point costs of heavy weapons. The farseer going to T3 is a big nerf but its canceled out with auto 3+ save from POW and its already very unlikely they will get POW (unless ur my freind who got POW 5 times in 1 game), basically eldar r gonna still be unbalanced if most of these rumors r true

ppl r welcome to disagree with me if they want but i would like them to explain why not just say im wrong for no reason

Well, I agree that at the moment the Eldar Codex sounds darn nasty, but you've got to remember that this Codex is still several months away, and that not all of what you're reading here could be true. Also, do realize that there's always tons of hype before a new Codex comes out, with people believing that the army will be unbalanced and such. I think the best thing to do is to wait and see before we make any judgements.

On the warp spider phoinex lord. They do have one but in a small piece of fluff that may be in the Dark Eldar codex or perhaps it was in a White Dwarf they mention he dissappeared and the Dark Eldar Incubi appeared a short time later. It is/was strongly suspected that the warp spider phoinex lord is alive and well with the DE and the founder of the Incubi. So I doubt you will see him in a regular eldar codex.

i only have to hopes for the new eldar cpdex, make the avatar better for lords sake !, and give the dark reapers a 3+ armour save like the fluff suggests !!!!

Wrong. Its the original Striking Scorpion Ahra "father of Scorpions" that defected. Karandras replaced him as the Scorpion Pheonix Lord. Note the heavy armour/shooty helmet/Close Comgat similarities. Incubi are nothing like Warp Spiders. The lack of Warp Spider and Shining Spear Pheonixs is simply due to the fact that when the Pheonix Lord fluff first appeared they hadn't come up with Warp Spiders and Shining Spears. They just never got around to updating them.

but i read somewere that guardans anre 16 in a squad max.. that sucks cuz i just bought 40 of them..

well now when you guys start talking about cool fluff i must read my fluff bible!

Sadly I have to agree with Firedrake a bit. Before the nid codex came out there were the rumor of the elite fexes and without number but both were pretty vague. At one point there was the rumor that without number was for any standard troops for Nids. Could you imagine a brood of Stealers that kept coming back onto the board. I'm sure some people were freaking out about "OMFG!!! It's TOO LE UBER!!" or something of the like. Just like the elite fexes. Nobody knew what the point limit was, some were saying as high as 150. Which would have been ridiculous.

Maybe at one point it WAS like that but through playtesting and balancing I think the codex came out pretty sweet. There are a few changes i'm still not overly fond of as well as a few 'miswordings' resulting in people cheaping and making it too uber, or over analyzing making things more useless than A/C at the north pole.

It's best to take any rumors with a grain of salt. They may very well be true, but probably not to the level that people are imagining. After all, without numbers ended up only being with gaunts.. the most useless of all things in a nid swarm.
