lol breaking a few rules with points costs there (or is it not since its still only considered a rumour?). Anyway can a mod only edit them out rather than delete the whole thing and lock it please. Then again it was a mod who posted it I guess so it might be alright.
damnit. I was hoping Harlequins would be awful, I already own masses of elites and can't use them! maybe its time to throw the banshees out of my army although with doom they just got a whole lot better.
My choice to begin buying up the old ranger models cheap though has paid off! ap1 on a 5+ is going to upset my friends necrons and grey knights to no end.
He didn't say if the farseer really was T3 though. And if ghosthelm stayed the same... runes of witnessing makes your seer more likely to get attacked so they will never be used any more if he is T3.
The worst thing about this is I have to save up money for lost and the damned but that isn't going to happen with this codex out.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
This doesn't really make sense, first he calls the wraithlord a monstrous creature. Then he complains about its twin linking rules, saying that the other vehicles don't share those rules. So which is it, a vehicle or a monstrous creature? From what i've heard it's a monstrous creature. They already established the twin linked criteria with crisis suits, it should be the same there.
Ask yourself why in the world would you trust a win loss record? Playing them yourself is the only way to tell.
The true joy in the game is playing down to the last model, no matter the odds.
It's a Monstrous Creature. One of it's items allows it to re-roll hits in close combat, which is perhaps where the confusion came from. On the other hand I did not remember it's rules for ranged weapons, so he could be right.
(I've read the new codex too).
Here's some facts & changes that Ikarus hasn't pointed out. Bear in mind this was from a 20 minute flick through of the army list, and is not even nearly complete.
Wave Serpents can now carry 12 passengers.
There are no lists for specific craftworlds, or their specific units. Court of the Young King, Saim-Hann Wild Rider Chief & Kinsmen, Spiritseers, Seer Council, Black Guardians no longer exist. (Pathfinders are an optional upgrade to Rangers in the list, but no disruption tables.)
Crystal Targeting Matrixes and Scythes have been removed, and Spirit Stones now have the same effect as Extra Armour. The Spirit Stone thing isn't a bad thing per se (I'd still take them), but it's boring. I liked the random effect. And bye bye CTMs. Holofields are now 5 points more than before.
Shuriken Cannon and Eldar missile launcher haven't changed in stats or points (not certain on the points part). They're both still crap and still nobody will take them.
Starcannon is Heavy 2, but with no reduction in points cost to compensate. Scatter Lasers are Heavy 4, which makes them good(ish).
And yes lordlink, Farseers are now Toughness 3. This means they will be insta-killed by a Perils of the Warp attack. I put that bit in bold because it's important. Expect Farseers to disappear, specially since the powers haven't changed, and the new power Doom is forgettable (I know it's forgettable because I forgot what it did), and because Autarchs are cool.
Eldar Jetbikes cannot move in the Assault Phase any more (except to actually assault of course). However I could be wrong, but I could not find anything that said they could - it may have been hidden away in a section I didn't find. They are drastically reduced in points (and now Troops), but, because of this change, still crap.
Storm Guardians can't take plasma, krak or haywire grenades any more.
My opinion - extremely dissapointed. It's as though they made a list of all the features that could possibly be overpowered/cheesed out/overused, and instead of fixing them, they simply removed them. They have completely destroyed Saim-Hann, Ulthwe and Alaitoc armies, while Biel-Tan and Iyanden armies have had their army choices severely restricted. The core armies; armies based around the unmodified list have not changed too much and will not notice any major differences. The craftworld armies are screwed.
Admittedly the list can be used to create a 'Lite' version of the craftworld lists, but the differences from a normal list would be purely cosmetic. Marines got Traits to give variation in armies, Tyranids got Biomorphs to give variations in creatures, Eldar get nothing.
My conclusion: my Eldar army is headed for Ebay - well, not yet. I need to actually sit down with the Codex for an hour and note down all the changes, but I don't think the staff would allow me to do that somehow.
All the old Specialist Games resources are currently being uploaded at the Tactical Command forums, and you can find them here: http://www.sg.tacticalwargames.net/fanatic/.
I thought it was Camel, but I can't find it. Where is it again?

Shock horror. No, really. The chances of it happening are really quite small, and suddenly a bunch of eldar players think it's the end of the world. As long as you're taking runes of witnessing (they come with ghosthelms by default), there's only something like a 1 in 54 chance of him suffering potw, then there's the to wound roll, then your ghosthelm save (making it somewhere near 1 in 100).And yes lordlink, Farseers are now Toughness 3. This means they will be insta-killed by a Perils of the Warp attack.
It's not that bad!
(If you're that worried, just over 200pts nets you the T4 Eldrad...)Erm, 24" range and reroll to wound rolls vs the target unit? Banshees just got a whole lot scarier with that around.I put that bit in bold because it's important. Expect Farseers to disappear, specially since the powers haven't changed, and the new power Doom is forgettable (I know it's forgettable because I forgot what it did)
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone

Ask yourself this - "If the Codex was released right now, would LO allow this information to be on their boards?" If the answer is "No," then we're not allowing it before the information is made public.
So, that's why I've removed the link and the information. Those of you who saw it early, consider yourselves lucky. I'm simply appalled that the other forum allowed that post in the first place.
