Dam i'd just like to say, gosh there goes me hoping for some new units or new rules for blood angels.
"DID WE JUST SIGN UP FOR A SUICIDE MISSION, RICO?" "YEAH WE JUST DID, WHEN WE ENLISTED" LOVE THE IMPERIAL GUARD, JOIN TODAY!!
While I am impressed by Games Workshop's resolve to revise the Dark Eldar codex and give us Dark Eldar fans something to smile about, I'm sorely disappointed by this newest development. It's not right to drop the Blood Angels and I really hope that this rumour is not true. Really, the Blood Angels were the army that first introduced me to 40K, back when I played Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels. Granted, I didn't know anything about the game at the time (I was 7!) but it implanted memories in my brain that would later be used by the Changer of Ways to trap me in this money-eating hobby.
So yeah, I really hope they don't drop Blood Angels. They're a great army, greater, perhaps, than the Dark Angels or Space Wolves.
Doom thought with the goods again! Oh yeah *starts dancing*
We'll see how it goes. I am amused that there's apparently no change to hellions and scourge aren't even mentioned as yet... still, we shall see.. we shall see.

Hmm... even if they don't get a new Codex, they'll still be legal to use... right?
I don't see them dropping blood angels. Blood Angels are quite popular from what I've seen, and not doing the last of the "big four" strikes me as plain odd.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
So, I asked him wether or not the rumour about these four armies was true:
"Orcs n Gobblins
And Gav Thorp has denounced the Druchii... so... who's the fourth"
"Lizardmen, you got the first three right as well" he said.
So, I would judge him to be a very good source for rumours, and, thus, I am lead to believe that the fourth will be Lizardmen.
Make of it what you want, but I am now a diehard follower of Lizardmen as army nr 4
I seem to remember reading on Warseer that this rumour was quashed a while back. They seem pretty convinced over there, in the thread that I was readng anyway, that the next army book after Empire is the High Elves, followed by the Vampire Counts. A couple of respected rumour-mongers such as Harry were contributing to the thread and seemed to agree with everyone else on that. (It was the "State of the High Elves" thread in case you're interested) They seemed to think that VC were originally going to be after Empire, but they ran into some problems while the Elves went quite quickly, so they switched positions in the schedule. Of course we all know how accurate rumours can be...so expect the unexpected!
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

Rrrrrr... aaaargh.... RAAAAAGH!
Don't drop Blood Angels! They are my favorite Chapter of all of them, except mine of course...
Come on, GW. I really don't appreciate that sort of joke. It is a joke, right?
About all the other stuff, good, new plastics, I could use some new conversion ideas...
With Dark Angels being released next year, and Space Wolves the year after (presumably), one would assume that very little, if any thought has gone into how the Blood Angels would turn out if they were to be released.
That isn't to say they won't be re-released, as, as has been stated - every other chapter in the "big four" is being re-released I don't see why BA wouldn't be favoured with similar treatment, but as they are so far off they are probably not being considered yet. (After all, 2009 *is* quite a way off)Soo... If this is indeed true, this will further emphasise the misguided stereotype that Dark Eldar are "Chaos Eldar".The Warriors are being completely overhauled, think of the new Eldar models in chaos armour.
I don't know what happened during the Eye of Terror, but regardless I thought the Dark Eldar hated chaos (most specifically Slaanesh). Though if it's just a Chaos armour lookalike - though hopefully less bulky - it could be pretty cool looking.
Great to hear the DE are getting an overhaul though. It's about time.
Apathy is its own reward...
Sweetness. Imight just start a DE army when the new range is unveiled.
Of course, thats just going off what you said...for all we know they could be uglier then the last models.
