He was just sharing some information. Yeah the rough riders would be cool. Even though I don't plan on having a big guard army although I might continue it after finishing my space marine army and eldar. Orks I hope come out first they need it the most. The only thing I don't want for the orks is more transports. They got enough of those and they are pretty deadly with thirty orks in them.

Default Ahhh but....

Sorry,

But much as it pains me as an Ork player, it appears that it may be Chaos to follow Dark Angels - the circumstantial rumours grow to support this. So given another Smurf related release early 2oo8 Ork may get in mid 2008 and if so IG 2009.

I do not know where your store manager gets the 5 year shelf life. If that were so it can only apply to some. If true now lead with 3 main codexes, Tau with two - Smurfs don't count as they are updated every three days, or so it feels like

Yeah,I've heard chaos, orks, then DE,then(possibly)IG,I kind of doubt IG,it just got done not to long ago,I say 2010 really. But they need to stop introduceing different guard regiments(by this I mean the vostryans)and start updateing some IG box sets, like rough riders, ratlings, orgyns, some officers need to be redone as well, maybe make a plastic HQ box(pushing it i know,I can always try and suggest),i'm not worried on the guard codex really, but they need to focus on the minis a little bit.

the only thing that bothers me about the IG is id like to see a more flexible doctrine system, its ridiculous normal guard can take hardened fighters but rough riders can't,
and the elite storm troopers of my krieg, the guys that do suicide runs all day long,
cant take the doctrines the line troopers can.
another vehicle would be nice, maybe include the salamander or the leman extermenator.

That reminded me of some thing that I wanted for there army. Maybe trying to make their docterins a little better or make them more effective. The ones that I have seen arent really that effective.

Maybe he was talking about a upgraded codex not a new one. For example a second edition imperial guard codex for 4th edition 40k. Like the second edition dark eldar codex that is out now.

I appologise for not making myself clearer. From what I can gather, he was referring not to a full codex, but somewhat of a suppliment with a few more doctrines and units in it. As for chaos/orks, he say's it's probably going to be right before this coming summer campaign (whichever one is not done then, more likely then not it will be done before the next christmas season), as well as the usual suppliment like eye of terror.
