First of all, sorry if this is somewhere else already. For the 30th Anniversary of WD, GW is releasing this model:
All I can say is ROCK ON! Gotrek, Bugman, and the White Dwarf? I'm really glad I haven't bought a Dwarf Lord on Shieldbearers yet, because this mini takes the cake!
Here's the link to the page; apparently its only going to be sold one day!
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]"There is nothing as sure in the world as the glitter of gold and the treachery of Elves."
I also learnt from my local store that each store will get 1 version of the model in gold plate to give away!
That is a really awesome model and it has three really cool characters in it. Really cool.
while there are alot of cool events going on throughout the celebration, I have to say that I am not very excited about that miniature. Its absolutely ridiculous. The modeling isn't too bad, except for the fact that Gotrek and Bugman look as though the have hardly broken as sweat, but the whole theme is absurd. Bugman and Gotrek carrying Grombrindal around just kinda seems degrading to the other two, and is totally out of character for the two of them. Just my rant about the model, its a shame, the could have made it much cooler looking, even if the did insist on including Gotrek and Bugman.
I don´t like the model, first Gotrek would never do that even for Grombrindal.
so apart from the not real i don´t like it

that's wierd, they've only just celebrated 300 ed. lol yea the sculpt looks great but the theme, don't like it spoils the background on each of the characters:cry:
phht, figures someone is going to get all technical about a celebration figurine. I think it's cool, as it has nothing to do with the dwarf army, or it's historical implications. It's symbolical of the magazine white dwarf, which Grombrindal symbolizes, and the people celebrating and cheering it, and as such, dwarves would be doubly excited about it, since one of their own is fronting it, thus the two most famous dwarves are representative of the dwarves as a whole, but also the games workshop hobby as a whole. It's a celebration figure dammit, get over it people. it's not a gaming piece.
What he said, times 2.It's a celebration figure dammit, get over it people. it's not a gaming piece.

Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
Ah first, I wasn't sure about it. But now, yeah. I like. As said before, it's not really meant to be any form of accuracy but mere celebration. Dwarves have always been a big part in the GW world (look at the stuff they've done - magazine; White Dwarf, pub; Bugman's Bar.. umm.. killing trolls.. Gotrek (might be his novels though) ) and I think it's suitable to celebrate their 30th anniversary. I'll be getting one. =D But then.. I am a dwarf play and love all three characters..
It just looks goofy to me. The model is completely overloaded with what appears to be obviously blunt symbolism, either that or I just read into things to much. I Would prefer a new and improved version of the old Grombrindal model, not this ridiculous incarnation that looks like Battle for Skull Pass gone Promo.
