Bomb 2007-2008 40K GT rules pack.

This was posted on Warseer by InsanePsychopath. It is the rules pack for the 2007/2008 40K GT. It also features a rather nice pic of a daemon prince from the upcoming Chaos codex Enjoy.

Sorry about that folks. The Link has been fixed. ^_^

Certainly is a pretty neat pic. But it seems to be going away a bit from GW's current love of using very fine detailed drawings (like the new ones in Codex Eldar and Dark Angels) and using the more heavy handed approach.

Good work

I'm going to cross post this into the tyranid forum, but maybe someone has an answer here.

under the army list section the following can be found

Quote:
Personalised hive fleets will be allowed. For the purposes of this
Tournament, Ripper Swarms will be a geno-fixed species that may not
be mutated in any way. Any mutable genus creature used must be
WYSIWYG and its characteristics should be explained clearly to all
opponents.
Huh? What's the deal with Rippers that they aren't allowed to be mutated? And what's the definition of mutated anyway? are they still allowed to take the biomorphs described in the codex?

Am i missing something or did ripper swarms become broken powercreatures while i wasn't looking?

It means you cant upgrade them with biomorphs. Rippers are fixed because they are so easy to abuse, basic 3 base ripper swarm with wings and leaping (12" move, 12" assault) is 72 poiints.

but neither the term genofixed or even mutated is used at all in the 4th edition codex. "custom hive minds" also is a reference to non-existent 3rd ed rules. Also, there are much easier units in the tyranid army to abuse, why pick on the rippers?

Oh and Leaping cannot be taken in conjunction with winged, as stated in the Winged biomorph text:

"A winged model may not have the leaping or extended carapace biomorphs." [p33]

I'm guessing it's a cut and paste error. Wonder who should be made aware of this at GW?
