I questioned a regional manager about a possible plastic ogryn release date, and i got the strangely specific answer of August 2008. He also said that is the scheduled date for new Commissars. Pictures of both have been around for a bit (>Here< if you want to see them.) Anyone else heard any different? Can anyone else also confirm this?
Edit: Decent chance the ogryns are not plastic. =( Boo GW

About time that the IG got some good looking Commissars. They are a vital part of the army composition and play a huge part in the fluff and feel of an IG army and up until now the models have been mediocre at best.
Wow, Commissars that actually look intimidating. Ogryns still look dorky, I would just buy the OK models and make some. Still, at least they reduced his head size.
hmmm nice, would like to get some of them, just one thing WHY cant they bring out a multi part plastic one!
I suppose the Commissars look ok, but I feel abit let down that they're not multi-part models.
The more I look at them the more I think I'd rather want to field GS'ed versions of Commissars rather than use these two part minis (More flavor in the custom ones methinks)
The ogryn in that peek looks slightly odd. I always see them as alot more brutish and without the "Potato" faces.
Ogre Kingdoms conversions here I come! :w00t:
Anyways, for those that're starting out in the hobby or simply want fast commissars these are great. Is it just me or is GW making all their new models slimmer than the old ones? (Like, compare the old Cadians to the new ones, new deathguard looks practically Eldar-ish.)
Perhaps its all the running and screaming the guardsmen tend to do?

the new ogryn are NOT plastic. There were several pix circulating that made them look so, as they were the 'test' resin casts. They will be metal (according to warseer sources).
A plastic ogryn kit (of 5) would have been really cool, similar to the ogre boxes for fantasy, but in a 40k flavour. Sadly GW apparently doesn't think they'll sell enough of them to commit to plastic, which seems self-defeating to me.

Well, until the rules for Ogryns make them more playable, there is probably no reason to make a mass-produced version of them in plastic. I own five Ogryns that will probably never see play again just for that reason. For the points, I can buy so many better options.

I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
