I love it, complaints about GW changing things, when at the end of all the worldwide campaigns (and in between) there have been complaints about them not changing things and "failing to move the story on".



I will however admit that they could have thought that one through a bit better after they made so much fuss about Archaon being the Everchosen and such champions being so rare because the gods are too busy fighting amongst themselves.


It SHOULD have been something along the lines of "Whilst in the chaos wastes all the myriad beings and creatures that serve the dark gods are constantly striving against each other in the name of their divine overlords, should an incursion get sufficiently far into the world outside the wastes it is likely that the force is led by a leader who has been able to gain the blessing of multiple gods in order to convince his/her/its followers into fighting alongside each other (rather than WITH each other) in the name of the greater glory of Chaos."

Hey presto! They still hate each other with a vengeance but that animosity on occasion gets thrown aside in order to go and dismember the inhabitants of the civilised lands.

I see both points about mixing and matching units and fluff. I think an easy solution to it would be some sort of animosity type rule for units belonging to a god other than the Generals. Maybe something where units of a different god and outside the generals' leadership are stupid (maybe call it rebelious). Or something on those lines. It wouldn't tank the army but would be very fluffy.

On the other hand think my bloodthirster led tzeentch army will do very well!

I've never liked retconning. I like it when the story is continued on, but retconning annoys me- its like a really bad cop-out. Also, I don't recall the Greek gods being that nice to eachother and subortinating some of their followers to the sevants of another god (or if they did, they probably had a champion of their own in attendance).

Even a rule like "you much have a hero of a god/undivided in order to take god specific units" would be better. Ex: if your general was undivided, no restrictions. Otherwise, you, for example, would need a GD or tzeentch or a herald of tzeentch in order to take horros/screamers/flamers/etc. Makes sense, right?

Does anyone remember if having a mark does anything other than let you get greater daemon gifts?

Here is the only fluff you need to justify the different gods working together.

Bloodletter: I hate you.

Daemonett: I hate you more.

Horror: I hate both of you.

Plaugebearer: I hate everyone.

Bloodletter: Hey look...a mortal!!!!

Mortal: Huh? AHHHHHHHHH.....splutch...

Daemonett: I still hate you guys.

Bloodletter: Totally.

Fluff problem solved.
