Terrain of the week, month, fortnight, however long its been!

It would be trenches, and unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything really, I went through a few pages of images looking for "40k trenches" "wargame trenches" "ww1 trenches" but the best I found was "trench diagrams" in which I will upload a few photos of the types of trenches and hopefully give you guys some insight into the reasoning and look of different trench systems.

On that note : the best trench system I've seen to date (and probably forever afterwards) is of course by our very own Inquisitor Earl, having made this beast of a table for a train show last year (correct me if I'm wrong). The whole piece looks amazing but I did see this thread ages ago and was delighted at the look of the trench, well before it was painted or even flocked.

Absolutely amazing work, if you want a trench, I don't see why you would want it looking any less than that.

http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ml#post1027927

This is a thread on how the infamous Earl made his delicious trenches.

If anyone can find any pictures of trenches I would very much appreciate you telling me, or just posting them up on here yourself, I will be starting a new job soon and living with the girlfriend as well doesn't give me all the time to look into every request as much as I'd like to, and scenery so far seems a much harder task than finding any kind of miniature.

So please feel free to add anything you may feel is either with the theme or against it, I just want to have lots of beautiful terrain on here to inspire fellow LO-ers.

So without further ado, the actual pictures of the trenches.

This one is a lay out of the different types of trenches that could be made, the trap one seems to stand out the most to me, as well as the one with the firing step.

These two are from the same book I'm pretty sure, just a sort of cut-away of the trench system such as the HQ underground and little details as the barbed wire field that force the enemy to slowly crawl through to advance.

I'm really sorry I couldn't find much else, I did have a good look for what its worth, but as I said, anything you guys can find to add on here, please feel free because it helps me out, and it helps out anyone else that may be watching and waiting for inspiration.

Nice diagrams, omgitsduane. Thanks for finding them, it given me some ideas. Roommate and I have just started a trench project.

How wide are you guy’s making trenches? I’m doing 70mm or 2.75”. That way a heavy weapon team can set up or I can run fex’s down the front line.

Also 1” foam seems short. I’m adding .25” to .5” of wood putty/rock/sand bags to make the little berm.

None of this stuff was built or painted by me.

You know, if I didn't watch family guy, I'd never know what star wars is, I guess I'm one of the only people never to see any star wars, and everything I know about it, I know from the show.

I want to give it a shot but its a lot of movie to watch and my attention span isn-

those trenches are nice josh, good pics.

If anyone has any requests that I might be able to find, I'd like to know so I can get this thread running properly.

What about a forest/jungle theme? There are a couple of good tables around and plenty of inspiration. Anyone from Aus remember the Laniena III board?

Shonuff has some requests.

I'd love to see:
1. Space marine or IG bases. not platforms, but like full bases, or boards that have some sort of base of operations on it.

2. Hives, or tyranid scenery, not those little McCragge plastic cruddy pieces either. I want to see some TERRAIN!

Shonuff, I have been through quite a large chunk of TerraGenesis: Forum Index and found hardly anything tyranid there, would you maybe accept some zerg stuff if I could find it? Worst comes to worst, they are almost the exact same race anyways... and who knows, zerg might be MORE inspirational for you. I did find 2 nice pieces so far.

Some sort of daemon throne, but the idea could easily work for a tyranid scheme.
