The only thing I'm limited on is funds, I've been cut off welfare for 2 months (LOL) and my girlfriend is supporting us for the next month or so on her part time job so yeah, money is tight... other than that I'm all for it, just wish I had some more supplies around but I got plenty of cardboard and toilet rolls ![]() also shonuff I added you to msn, just in case we can hammer out ideas with fox together. |

Well, most of us play on generic hills, woods, or rocks. City scenery is always cools. Grease and Grim is over done, but could be interesting. Nids is good idea. What I would like to see is a board that emphasizes the natural world. Things like big waterfalls, interesting arches, small cliffs, varied and sloping terrain, downed woods. It should look like a place that matters, a place on a planet that transcends the armies fighting in it. Maybe Prandium as the Orks took over. Then you could have the best of both worlds. Anyway, good luck.

OMGID: not a problem on the money side. There's going to be strict rules to make this not only a doable contest for anyone on any budget, but also a way people who are new to scenery making can afford to make a few of whatever we make. Rules like: -No kits. you may use a few items out of kits or off sprues to "supplement" your terrain piece, but nothing already built, or scenery made for scenery ( i.e. using the toothed doors off a rhino sprue to add a closed reinforced door to a piece is fine, but we don't want someone buying the Cities of Death Factorum andd saying "DONE!" after some paint) We want to see people's ingenuity and use of items from around the house in an interesting and convincing manner. Bits and little pieces here and there are fine, Size will not win the conest. We want to make this doable for the guy with two jobs and a wife and kids who has like 4 hours a week to play, and wants to make small terrain he can slide out of the way. pieces will be identical in size, (4"x8", 6''X12'', 12''x12'' largest) etc. so if I spend 8 days straight working on a 8''x12'' piece, Gaunt doesn't come in with a mini on a peanutbutter jar with some paint and flock and call it a win. *winks, laughing* In order to be considered, you'll need to take photos step by step to show how it's made. This will lengthen the time of the contest a bit, which will give those whose spending cash comes in at a trickle, has time to keep up. stuff like that.

It will be a little difficult to me to find a store with plasticard... hardware store is ok for pipes and all but foamcard and plasticard will be tricky...

Really happy to see this idea is taking off, my terrain of the week thread died because its just impossible to FIND good terrain, and this competition will be exactly what we need to spruce things up in this area. Seriously wicked idea guys. I can't wait. |

This is pretty funkeh! If you guys can keep this going, I can certainly get some threads stickied for you. You do normally need to ask though, and not just hope I find it myself ^_- I'm not that scary, surely...? As far as the ideas go, I'd like to see some general rocks/nature style scenery, or some classic grim and grimy techno scenery, most of the other options seem either very race-specific, or somewhat tried and true... Wheras nature has some amazing properties to explore, and you can *never* have enough industrial tech scenery! -t.
