C&C is welcome.... this is only stage 1 of painting.. base colors and checking the color balance of the entire piece before shading, highlighting, and additional painting (rust, stains, shadows etc.)

Aperture Science...we do what we must, because we can.

wicked! I'm tempted to pull mine off its crummy base and chuck it onto a corn flakes packet I have lying around after I had to try and paint it using chunky oil paint that just took the flock and put it everywhere else... Then I remembered I had yellow spray paint...

Nice piece of terrain you've made.
Breaks my heart to see them LEGO pieces cut up... And personally I would have skipped the lovermost step of the stairs. Looks like it's just been placed on the ground, and not a part of the actual staircase. Like a doormat...

you know, I was waiting for someone to mention that. It didn't sit well with me either, but someone in my gaming group said the first step was too high up, when putting a mini next to it to guage size. I'll see if I can pry it off when I get home, it may look better.

I agree with what's been said here, you don't usually find doormats in front of staircases. I think it'd look better. Also, I think the flooring around the can needs some of that grating--or at least something. As it stands now, it's looking a little generic. And under the walkway around the can is a little bare. Maybe a barrel or something? I understand not wanting to get it too cluttered, but it seems empty.

Love the Portal references, by the way.

Why? I personally love the idea of a doormat in the bottom of a staircase... Imagine also a sign "Please wipe your feet before climbing" ;Y
