and Shonuff took the liberty to remind you the due date ^^.

I think I might have to take advantage of the unlimited height advantage.

1.) should I be signing on for the veterans or the adepts. I mean i'm pretty crafty and even have some sculpture experiance under my belt(from art school), and have made some pretty heavy duty stuff(not just for warhammer, like actual 5 foot tall sculptures.) Whatever you think is fair, so its your call.
2.) When you say house hold items what do you mean... cuase in my hose hold, theres enough spare lumber to build a small toolshed Also, can I use foam core, mainly for making a base for the terrain piece?
3.) Why for the love of god a coat hanger!!! I still have nightmares about having to saw through one some years ago to make the base for that flying hive tyrant i made many moons ago.

Well, I'm enthusiastic to start, But for the life of me i can not think of one good way to incorperate a cloaths hanger... Puts on thinking cap
    1. you can be in either catagory. But some people told me they would participate except they didn't want to go up against me and guant...so I put us separate from the others..if you WANT to pit your scenery against the IRON CHEFS then by all means choose VETERAN.

    2. Household items. Foamcore is perfect to use. Anyone can afford a sheet of foamcore and it can be reproduced using cardboard. the point is you're not using plaster of paris Hirst arts molded walls, or the GW Cities of Death sprues..that was the point of "household items." (and if you build 1:1 scale imperial shed...i'm bowing out of the competition, and claiming you my vote now

    3. coat hangers can be used in part or whole. THe metal ones are usually either 16 guage, or 14 guange. The 16 guages i can break by hand, (multiple quick bending) but the 14 guage ones need some work. (But they will break). I have a set of wire cutters or dykes as they call them for clipping wire. they seem to work fine. You have neighbors..they have a garage..ask them for a pair of wirecutters or even go buy a pair for what? 1.00USD? we're not talking about a big investment.
And btw, any modeler/40k scenery enthusiast who doesn't have wire cutters....shame on you.

also, to help keep the WIP threads clear, if you want to reply to someone's WIP, post it in here. because if the WIP thread is good enough, the admins or black hat may make them articles..and we don't want replies in there..

ALl of you have awesome ideas so far, and i can't wait to see them finished.

You can make anything as long as it's scenery and built using raw materials.

Hell you could even make one of those model landscapes they use at construction developments.

Okay boys and girls. Time to win my title back.

I was doing some thinking about what Guant and I agreed upon when we were dicussing making IRON CHEF. We wanted a friendly competition which acted three-fold.
    1. entertainment
    2. a good source of ideas for scenery
    3. a nice ''how to'', so others can reproduce the scenery you make, and make is so they can use normal household materials ( even if you don't)

So i got to thinking, if i use foamcore...so what? the next person wanting to reproduce it could use cardboard with similar results.

So I use a bit of plasticard.. Duane and some of the others can do MORE with cardboard and cereal boxes than I can ever do with Plasticard. So there goes that.

Now don't get me wrong. we all still agree that we don't want to see Cities of Death sprues or Hirst Arts scenery molded plaster molds.. But some things that was created to be used in scenery, can be easily reproduced.
Somehow at some point, we got on this 'use only things found around the house.' kick and it's not the original point of the scenery.

Anyway that's enough of my rant...I just don't think that we should penalize someone if they use foamcore or a bit or bits of plasticard. If you use a broken power supply off a computer for the fan, and i don't have one to use..can't I make it out of plastic tubing and some cardboard. or if you take apart some kid's toy that has some cool little bits of plastic..should you not be voted upon because we cannot duplicate a bit of your piece? If you don't have these things, reproduce it or do them better with other materials...

Isn't that the true definition of an IRON CHEF?

    Just my opinion.

Has this thing already started? Can I go ahead and start a WIP thread for my Chaos Warp portal??? Can i have a cookie?

These are all important questions that need to be answered (especially the last one)
