    Iron Chef III: Triple Threat

For my first time in the contest I decided to make a kind of infested or broken down marine temple. I am using only household items (cardboard etc, as that is all I have!)

I started by dividing cardboard into sections, and cutting it into tiles

Using a coathanger, I made pieces of wire, then stuck together some Styrofoam (don't worry, I will use the coat hanger for more than interior stability!)

    Time for the Imperial Aquila!

    Next, I cut the base:

    Ah, beloved cereal boxes...

I glue cardboard on top of the Styrofoam, then glue down the tiles:

    My work so far:

    Stage Two:

    Time for walls!

And don't forget the girders (Using that wonderful coat hanger)

I found out the hard way that super glue melts styrofoam...Oh well, back to elmers.

    Protect against melting:

    And the walls go up!

Yeah hes done a good job, if he paints as well as hes made it, then he will be getting a vote from me!

Damn! This is looking awesome. I'm going to have to step up on my Firing Platform if I want to have a chance.

Okay. After a busy weekend, I finally have time to post my progress. First of all, I tiled the two broken pieces of floor and lined the with cereal box cardboard to keep the styrofoam from melting again.

Next, I got my trusty flock (rocks picked up from the road and parking lots!) and added the final touches before painting. I also filled in the little cracks in the middle, around the eagle, so the whole floor is completely tiled.

It is now ready for painting!

Well I finally got to painting. So far, only the walls are painted. I started by painting it all black (using cheap acrylic paint, not expensive GW stuff, of course!). And it looked awful. Then, as I was despairing, I decided to drybrush it light brown. And it made a huge diference. I also painted the broken rebar boltgun metal and the eagle gold. So without further adue, Painting Part 1:
