This is sheer genius. Just one note though, if you're going to do a collapsed tunnel, you're going to need a lot more rocks because people are going to be able to see the flat wall at the back without more.

The entire back of the mine entrance will be covered in rocks, that was just to give me an idea of how it would look when it starts coming together, so don't worry, rocks will be had

As you can see I got around to making most of the crane, it needs to be weighed down at the back or I might just make a tougher pivot point for it.

The pulley system for the elevator looks real bad but I think its almost too late now, and besides, the orks might have made it that way...

So next few things are to make a working mine cart (already made the base, it fits perfectly onto the tracks), rig up chains for the crane and a hook system so they can latch onto carts, and then the final touches like motors and maybe a light down in the mine.

It's good for me to see it all working out as well, the only thing I wish that I had done different is make more room for this mine shaft piece as I'm running out of cool things to do because of it.

I may make another section and just glue it onto the side, totally legit.

I reinforced the pulley system and also added a wheel to the front that will be part of the whole mechanism to turn it. I have no idea how I'm going to make the generator that turns it all but we will see in good time.

It fits 4 orks at the current time, I've also been spending a considerable amount of time turning all my short chain lengths into one big chain and also trying to make the lift always sit flush with the tracks each and every time it comes up.

As I mentioned I may just have to extend the entire platform and at this current time I don't think fitting any wires and electronics in it will be achievable... but I'll have a good think about it before I dash everyones hopes

I got around to making a brand new hill that is a size I'm happy with this time around, with that being said, here is the old mine shaft.

I didn't want to use it anymore as it was infinitely too small for the vision I had and the work that had to be carried out on the site so I turned it into a simple reminder of why kans need to be kept a close eye on when they are down in the mines.

The new hill is fairly simple, it will be a corner piece to balance out the large heights on either side and will be the centre of the main mining effort, there needs to be kan equipment and repair stations as well as the managers office and a few other nice gubbins and bitz up there to keep things running smooth.

I still need to make a crane and a few other bits and pieces but I'm low on paddle pop sticks and money so that may have to wait, but I will make anything I can in the mean time with whatever I can muster.

Excellent stuff, but you need to show off the awesome barricades and my sweet Saloon.

Here is the barricades
No pictures of the saloon sorry Miasma. I'll explain why in the following...

Click the image to open in full size.

This is the table as a whole but I have a lingering question about the set up of the table as a single piece...

I was originally planning to fill the centre with some cool buildings, but to put the level of detail I want with the ability to not totally ruin LOS and still maintain a nice detail with all the buildings, I would need a bigger table I think and I don't have that power in me I'm afraid.

So I was wondering if anyone would hold it against me to totally remove the saloon/bar/building idea from the table?

Of course I would replace it will small LOS blockers such as towers of random stone, boulders, and wreckage to still give it a maneuverability but without the big cumbersome pieces in the middle ruining clear shots from one side to the other and so on and so forth.

I also spent what is very near the end of my financial tether today on 2 tanks that I want to ork-up in order for them to be used as mining vehicles and was wondering if anyone had the inspiration to come up for some ideas of what I should do with them?

EDIT: Heres some ideas.
Click the image to open in full size.
This one is a fair size bigger than the vickers (the vickers being only a few inches long) and smaller than the half-track and due to its big blocky size I think I could actually fit the batteries and a motor in there so the drill bit I attach to the front will actually work. I have a few ideas bouncing around like perhaps a jackhammer idea too, it is a little harder to get to work effectively but I reckon effort put in will pay off when it starts ramming vehicles on the sidelines.

Click the image to open in full size.
The vickers will be nice because of the size for a small lighting vehicle, so I think I can fit an LED in a lamp section built on to the front and a machine gun hooked up to the new canopy for when I want to use it as a buggy in games.

Default What an amazing idea!

I love this board!

Can I make a couple of suggestions though?

1) Instead of a drill, why not use a face-cutter? Its a massive rotary barrel of cutting blades that gouge out the coal face down deep mines - looks a bit like a combination of a combine harvester and a Sherman 'Crab' Tank used in the D-Day landings. One of those would produce the squared-off adit you've created in the side of the hill.

2) Instead of town buildings in the centre, why not make buildings associated with the mine? Small huts for the most part, with a few (two or three) larger ruined buildings (crushers/graders, offices and power-plants).

Will be following this with enthusiasm - rep to you!
