Orks mining with tanks? Awesome! You should throw on a of giant drill on one of them, kind of like those module transports from the old ninja turtles cartoons.

Will be following this with enthusiasm - rep to you!
Hmm, I actually like the second idea a LOT and I may have to spend some time drawing up a small power plant or two to help around the place, maybe even get the effort to "connect" it to the rest of the table with wires half embedded in the sands.

Don't get me wrong though. face-cutters are totally bad-ass but I've drawn up a sketch of how to get a jackhammer function working on the recovery vehicle with some modification and I wouldn't know where to begin on a face cutter...

And by jackhammer, I mean it will work.

LOL I remember what you are talking about, I used to watch that everyday before school. With that Kang thing yes? Regardless I'm pretty well-tuned into the jackhammer idea, unless someone can think of some more convincing arguements for a face-cutter?

Thanks for the support I hope to have some updates soonish when I can afford batteries again.

I wasn't entirely convinced at the start by the facecutter, because I didn't realise HOW BAD-ASS THAT IS!

If I ever get around to MAKING these machines, that one looks like it just might be the thing I'm after... LOOK AT IT!

And it would REALLY not be all that much work to get it to spin the cutting surface too...

I'll have to sketch up some ideas!

But what the hell is that second thing? it just looks like a giant block?

Its an electric mining shovel. Thing is like 4 stories tall at the top of the operators cab. Not exactly the most graceful piece of machinery, but that one probably takes around 70 cubic yards of material at a time.

That should give you a better sense of scale. Very impressive piece of machinery.

With the continuous miner, there are other pieces of machinery that could go with it. Your's could be a very impressive board indeed.

Oh my god! If I had the materials I would be really tempted to make that thing. It looks godlike!

Anyone want to donate me a large scale tank model that I can use for a base for it?
Cover it in guns and teef and make it orky and we have a hit on our hands.

Today I'm spending going over some ideas for things to fill in the centre of the field and other tweaks, like wire fences around some areas and tools and what not.

Great looking project mate - I'm and a godlike work rate, I wish I could do stuff this quickly!

If you have a budget or a benefactor, don't forget you can get the FW Hades Breaching Drill:

It would look just the job for some abandoned Imperial equipment!

I don't know if anyone is willing to donate a $50,000 forgeworld model for my table, but if that does happen, you'll be the first to know.

Actually at £25 it's quite reasonable for a FW model, but if you want one for free it's £25 too much I suppose

When you have 40$ or roughly 20 pound to last another full week... it doesn't stretch far. I hate not having a job.
