I couldn't drop the whole thing especially now after seeing how good it all looks coming together. the thing that held me back so long was the length of that tunnel and how unsure I was that I could make it look cool and functional as well as still paint it top-notch. And there are so many other table ideas floating around that I want to get this one out of the way and start making tables for mates. |

I got around to a little more detailing today and this is what it looks like. ![]() ![]() I've added a few more tank trap areas and also made some more barbed wire and bolstered the rhino by throwing some ork bits and pieces in there for gear. I've been thinking of cutting a marine or two in half right down the middle and covering him in sand to see if I can get a cool effect. ![]() The rhino. ![]() One of the tank trap sections. Tomorrow and the next few days I think I'll just be making fine details like more sand in corners I think it might gather, dead marines and maybe even orks lying around and then I gotta convert up the other kans. I have one that is going to have a klaw and a shovel and another with a drill in place of each arm. Hopefully it looks good. Wish me luck guys! |

Thanks mate, I still need to get those killa kan arms and stuff off you... Would be good for some make-shift defences. ![]() I added lots more flock to the corners and also built a make-shift road down the sides using plaster and running a tyre through it at random intervals and then adding more flock. ![]() The big blue piece obviously needs more putty to cover it but it wont be fixed in place. ![]() The water tower makes an appearance! I need to make a sturdier platform for it as it falls over fairly quickly and its frail. ![]() What is left : I need to make the other killa kans up still, maybe make some more barricades and also super-flock the edges of all the hills then I think I can begin painting right? |

I don't think I've commented on your post yet, but I've been following this thing since the beginning. This board is absolutely gorgeous, I'd love to play a game on it. I only have chances to play at an RT where they try not to fix things to the board, and all of the terrain has to be extra-survivable. To get to see a board with this much effort put in is just amazing. I've always wanted to build a board, but I don't play enough or have space enough to make something permanent. It's still awesome to live vicariously through your work though. |

Thanks guys! and for captain its good to hear that you can live vicariously through me cos I need a few games even if imaginary. I don't really have the room until the shed opened up by chance really and I haven't had a game for about 3-4 months. I'm lucky if I play 2-3 games a year honestly but I wasn't gunna let that stop me as terrains always been my favourite part of the hobby. A good board can make a game so much more believable and I guess thats what I'm trying to go for so thanks again!

I don't get very many games in anymore either, which is really strange because I have 3 friends who play, all within a mile of me. I have another friend at college who plays, and even his roommate plays! But I never have time for a game- it's split between college, work, my girlfriend, and helping out with my family. We've all cut in to buy some terrain, or build some, and my friend bought two folding tables to put in his basement (our usual hang-out) but interest has been going on and off through the group, gas prices are keeping us away from the RT, and nobody can get their schedule to line up long enough to actually get a game in. I keep looking at all of my models and trying to get some kind of motivation to finish painting and basing them all. Modeling is my favorite part, personally, but it's going to the back burner because I hardly play anymore. |
