Rep Power: 72 ![]() | I'm planning to order some forgeworld(or GW) barbed wire together with some vehicle bits I'm ordering anyway. What I want to know is wether this barbed wire is difficult to make look good, and how many inches of obstacles you get in one pack.

Get some chicken wire (with small gaps) and cut it so you have one long strip. The parts where the wire crossed leaves interesting barbs. Then curl it round a pencil and stick it onto a base and your done. You get as much as you want for a small cost. Thats how I make it.

Most hobby shops that sell HO scale train sets will sell the same stuff for cheaper. It is fairly easy to use, except it is actually sharp and can cut you. I wouldn’t recommend using the stuff if you plan on having models standing near it. It is bad enough when you knock a model over onto a hard playing table, imagine tipping it over into a mess of razor wire. :o I use jewelry wire from the local bead shop. It bends easy and can be curled easily. Take a look at Zoras display base; it has two razor wire sections in it made from the stuff. -GM

I just use the FW razorwire no matter what other stuff I should get my hands on. As far as I know you get enough wire out of that sheet to cover most of your ideas. Just curl it around a pencil...one or more depending on how big you want the "rolls" look like. Be careful about twisting the wire before putting it on the pencil... it only makes it harder to coil neatly... |
