Update

Based on 3mm MDF, a few small stones from my driveway + fine sand from a local beach + coarse sand from a sandpit. Ran out of my usual automotive spray paint so tried a genreal purpose spraycan, was not very nice and took ages to dry.
All foamboard edges (except step) have been covered in card to make it tougher, experimented with a dirty wash, didnt come out as great as I had hoped, aiming for a dirty while/concrete look, grey/white dry brush to follow after I have darkened up the recesses.

This is looking quite nice. And, you did a good job of disguising the secret ingredient.

Looks like I'll have to play catch-up!

Wow, very nice. The hand grips on the ladder are spot on.

Thanks guys!

Update

Have add some small details to the top section, still a few more to do.

Since this is starting to look like an air traffic control tower I will make another tube section to raise it higher.

Question
Does anyone think it is a good idea to have a weapon mount on the roof for an autocannon?

I think the gun looks good. I would say the tower looked good at the hight you had it, it looked sturdy enough to support the top room and take the recoil from 2 autocannon, if it gets too tall it may not. But then again it just may look uber cool

The extra section is removeable so I have two heights to choose from.
I think the extra section would only be used on an airfield table as it would look too high to be a sentry post.

could have some good uses in planet strike, especially if you make a landing pad to go with it!
