very nicely done.

Simple, effective and to the point.
A tube is a tube is a tube.

You found a use for the secret ingreditent by using ONLY the secret ingredient.

can't wait to see it painted.

(hope when you paint the tube, you make welcing joints, rivets and even put danger signs on it. give it some punch!)

I think I'm done with the pipeline, I've been really busy so I apologize for not giving this lots of details. I should have put more effort in it and I may revisit it later, but for now, here it is. At least it was easy to make, so other people should be able to replicate it without much difficulty. The finishing touches were touching up the black on the sludge and varnishing it (using gamesworkshop 'ardcoat) and flocking the base with gravel from the driveway. I painted the tube dark gray and spread some very watered down brown on top.

Any chance of a closeup of the blue painting on the sludge, this is very well done!
How many shades of blue did you use?
If you can find the macro "flower" on the camera this will make iot focus better close up.

I'm pretty sure that's light coming in from the window reflecting off the 'Ard Coat... I don't think it's painted with blue.

Ya Sorry to disappoint, but my painting skills are nowhere near what is needed to have artificial shadows n stuff. The "blue" is from real light reflecting off the black.

Nice pipe, but one thing I noticed is that you might want to try and do something about the lines encircling it. Having said that, I'm not sure there's an awful lot you can do

Nice work though!

Unless you don't have a glue-gun, you should proabably already everything you need. Be sure to post it when its done!

I was planning on putting some rippers coming out of the pipe and in the sludge, but I never got around to it.

As for the lines around it, I don't mind them too much, but a possible way to get rid of them would be to smear a light layer of green stuff around, but this would be a lot of work for not much benefit IMO.

Negative!
Use spackle. Also known as dry wall putty, you apply it with a putty knife or even your fingers. Use a tank brush dipped in water to smooth it over. Cover the entire tube to give it a nice even texture. When it dries you should be able to paint it as normal, but you can also seal it first with some common spray paint. I recommend Rustolium brand Hammered texture spray paint.

I would roll out some green stuff and make a raised "weld" make it look like a spiral welded pipe like these ones, easy to do as well, google "spiral weld" link below if it works for any one outside of NZ?
