Default Iron Chef VI: Pipeline (No longer Parthenon)

I have decided to make something else for the Iron Chef and will be using this thread to explore that piece of terrain. It will be a destroyed oil pipeline poking up from the ground. I started with a roll from wax paper and this is what it will basically look like:

Hey,

Sad to see that your Parthenon will no longer be brought to life but I am sure you will do an equally if not better job on the pipeline, Triple Threat, and I am eager to see more.

GAH! I was thinking of doing something similar, though your's looks fairly different from mine, so I might get away with it. I'm cheating on mine and having a long modularised pipe!

Update time! I used hot glue to make the oil stuff coming out of the pipe and poolinf at the bottom. i used a toothpick to hold the glue dripping down from the pipe. I also put a piece of cardboard inside the tube which I will cover in glue also, looking like that is where the level of the oil is.

Looks good, I'd say make the stream slightly wider at the top of the flow. This pic kind of shows what I mean, but its not exactly your situation.

I have greatly expanded the amount of sludge pouring out and now the cardboard inside is covered with hot glue as well. I also gave the glue a first layer of black.

Nice sludge, are you using corrigated card as the base? if so watch out if you plan to PVA sand on as it will warp, if you PVA both sides at once it should stay level.

Good call on the pipeline. I'm glad you are taking a bit more time on the Parthenon. That promises to be a useful and pretty addition to any Landscape.

My suggestions: How about drilling some bullet and shell holes near the top and perhaps one or two below the waterline for some sideways trickles. Nice idea, no industrial or ork site is complete without some caustic sludge.

The base has now been flocked with sand from the driveway. I will be adding some more glue (sludge) and then will be varnishing the sludge. I have yet to decide what color to paint the pipe itself.
