Hi
My name is Bugbait and I have a problem.
I have great dificulty in finihsing terrain projects.
I find that once the design and majority of work has been done I start thinking about my next project . . .
Things that need to be finished
Bunker and barriers to go with the 3 that are finished
Ruined Bastion to go with the unruined one (that isnt finished either)
And now I want to do a Promethium set with refinery, storage tanks and pump jacks.

I guess the"attach pictures from your computer' is broken?

Looks good Bug, can't wait to see you push through with these like you did your fortress monetary/wolf gate.
Man you keep making me one-up myself when I'm doing terrain.

But as far as unfinished scenery pieces... You know you have a brother -in-arms on that one.

all it takes is the determination to get it finished without turning it into a train wreck. I start filling up my workspace table, and when I spill something or something is in my way, is when I get pissed enough to start finishing these "X-file" projects. I have them set up in front of me, eye level, and everything else is put AWAY, then i get things done. (remove ALL distractions)

No, he was sleeping peacfully in the box, until a ******* friend of mine came over and said ' OMG! It's gawt a chainsaw and a big %^ing gun! i HAVE to help you put this together!!!"
so, Viktor Von Stompendoom is assembled, but shelved...and no conversions and no crew have been assembled until I finish the three buildings and the other stuff in his way.
(not to mention my scratch build Flakkatrakk!)

Wonderful work first and foremost. Had college not decided to eat all my free time Id have some scenery to work on as well, but yeah. My suggestion to finishing it is simple, give everything a base coat of paint. Then drybrush the crap out of it. That way its table top ready and you can always go back to detail paint it when your god and ready. Worse comes to worse Ill volunteer to work on some for you over the summer, lol.

Thanks Guant, too much of my terrain gets to the black undercoat stage and then stalls, at least its usable . . (like my defense laser, Im thinking a nice grey, but them a dull red might look OK as well, so then it never gets painted . . .)

Have done a little bit of work on the refinery, added a small control box and some pipes up the side, the pipes where filled with plaster to make them squash resistant, the pipe 90 deg bends where made from blocks of sprue filled into shape, I did try bending various plastic tubes but none came out very good.
Onto the pump assy next.

this next statement could e taken sooo many ways but....

Hey bugbait, nice cans!

LOL seriously, i like the cans, they look good. i have been debating making some serious sci fi 40k terrain, because i got hooked on making medieval warhammer /mordheim scenery.. i might have to time jump and work on some new scneery for my orks or my space marines.

...i hate you bugbait and your infectious muse.

Thanks Sho, never been called infectious before!
After a few attempts to get the walkway between the tanks I just couldnt get it to look right, so I will go with single tanks with a ladder up each one and a few pipes.
Meanwhile I started on a propane storage tank, plan to cover this with a few layers of paper and PVA, it will also have laders and pipes.

ya bunch of crazy scenery idea-thiefs!
lol, anyway. it's sunday night, and i'm finishing up something on the PC, next week and beyond, Shonuff is going to dust off the cabinet and pull out the "Scenery tools", Bugbait, i'll have some things to throw at ya and get some ideas, as they're built.

Thanks Blacknight, I try to do terrain as cheap as possible, most of the stuff I use is rubbish. Mitre10 is a good source of interesting stuff so to are 2 dollar shops, kids are also good source of junk.
The Tanks have sewing snaps as control valves handles (from Spotlight) lawn sprinklers for the black tubing, the rest is just ali cans, cardboard and foamboard.
I have an plog here with some of my older stuff -> Apoc Thread at warseer linky to give you an idea of what I use.
