If you put it on the newspaper it will get stuck, and all gooey and messy. Put it on some kind of metal tray and aim a fan against it, let it stand there and fan the sand for a day or two.

Spread it out on a tray of some sort (not paper) and stick it in the airing cupboard overnight. The slow heat from your hot water heater will dry it out very nicely.

I would strongly recommend against putting it in the microwave. It looks like whiteymoza got away with it, but sand (silicon crystals) can refract the microwaves back at the emitter, with similar results to puting a metal plate in the microwave. Your best bets would be to thinly (max depth 1/2 cm) spread the sand over an oven tray and put it in an oven at 150-200 Celsius (300-400 Farenheit if I did the conversion correctly) until dry, or put it all in a pot on a high flame (it won't burn or stick to the pot). EDIT: Typo. |

whiteymoza-lower case please, and also, don't microwave anything. Just leave it in a tray. Maybe instead of getting the wet stuff pick up some dry sand?
