I have seen some wire but nothing that really looks good for use as barbed wire. I been watching some war shows and the beach obstacles look so nice. So figured it is time to make some. Any suggestions? I seen some kits that have had the i beams but nothing with good looking wire. |

Get 20ga and 32ga enamel coated copper wire, and a small 1/4" dowel rod. Use the 20ga wire as the main spool, unwrap the wire, lay it flat and take out the 32ga wire, wrap it around the 20ga 2-3 times every 1/8" and cut the spikes down to size (roughly 1/16") then when it's all done (should take a few hours) Get your 1/4" dowel rod, and wrap it as close together as you can, and slide the wiring off the dowel rod, this will give you the rolled look of WW2 barbed wire. As for the wood holding the barbed wire, you could probably go with a ice cream pop stick.

Yes you could do that, but it would be *****ing money away. It's the same thing as my suggestion but for the same price you can make 150 feet of copper wire doing it yourself.

at terragenesis they show an easy way, you buy lengths of plastic angle, you cut them into 5cm lengths, and you glue them in the fashion of the tank blockades, very easy and cost effective

Terragenesis looks awesome. I see some fairly easy looking projects there. Thanks for the info! Nostrafus I am losing you on the part about wrapping the 32 gauge wire around the 20 gauge. “and cut the spikes down to size (roughly 1/16") Maybe I am visualizing the wrong type of wire. Next stop at home depot I will look at the types of wire. The popsicle idea is great. I will have the wife get some when she goes shopping. | |

Enamel coated copper wire is a finely insulated copper wire. So it's very very small you can get it at radio shack. I'll try and get ASCII to work for me and get a design going. Code: Â* Â* Â*| Â* Â* Â* | Â* Â* Â* | -----|||-----|||-----|||----- Â* Â* Â* Â*| Â* Â*Â* | Â* Â* Â*| *Crosses fingers and hopes the code will not fail*

Yeah I've got 3 spools of copper wire, I could (if I really wanted to) have enough to make roughly 200 feet of the stuff. And it only cost me about $6 U.S. So like 4 Uk Pounds.
