Here is the description of the new features and how it works

Description
This hack adds an activity metric for users to your forum; this metric takes into account a variable number of weeks. Also provided is a Junior/Normal/Senior member system based on this metric, and a longevity metric (user registered time as a percent of the amount of time the first user has been registered).

Visiting each day and posting the configured amount of times per day for the configured number of weeks will yeild 100% activity. Posts are checked individually for each day, so days cannot be skipped then spammed up afterwards. The weight of visiting for the day relative to posting is configurable. Weeks are weighted so the most recent has a bigger impact on the activity percent than the most distant.

When a user logs in with activity above the configured threshold, they are promoted from Junior Member to Member. When they log in with the configured amount of time as Member, they are promoted to Senior Member. You can configure the mod to also add secondary usergroups when these promotions happen.

I have nothing against the new system, it's just that the longevity is a very odd bar (maybe a bar showing red for years, yellow for months, and green for days since your start. also include the date of your start and you have a snazzy info bar) and the today thing is not worth it in my eyes. I don't post that many times daily, nor do I recieve that much rep on a daily basis. I wouldn't like a bar showing everyone how unpopular I am :cry:

When you mouse over the longevity tab, "existence" is spelled incorrectly.

Nice. I actually like the new system, now that it seems more operational and that it's been explained. It's a small feature that provides info for those members that wish to looks at other members credentials. Overall, I like it, though, as Nemesis said, the reputation is now split and would look better if it was all on a single line.

So by posting daily it adds to your power? I guess it makes sense. What if you don't post often like me, but already have Member status. By not posting could my status drop over time?

I don't think that members will be penalized in this way for not posting frequently. I could be wrong though.

I think the bar graph meter looks very amateurish -- it cheapens the look and feel of the entire board.

I think I'll be sticking to my habit of posting when I have something to say. I'm a little worried that this might inspire people to post less than helpful messages just to 'tick the box' of criteria. Set a goal of any sort and people will try and get to it.

It can't actually go up, it can only actually go down since it's the length of your membership represented as a percentage of the board's lifespan (as far as I can tell).

Actually, the percentage does go up Rork; however the increase will go down as time goes on until you can no longer tell it is increasing. (If you were a member on the third day of the sites founding, then by day 100 you have been a member for 98% of its existence, on day 200 you have been a member for 99% of the sites existence, by day 298 you have been a member for 99.3% of the sites existence and so on.)
