There seems to be an odd problem with the LO home page - when viewed in IE7 it almost loads, there are a couple of missing images, and then up pops an error about "Operation aborted" and you end up with a generic IE error page. I used Fiddler to see what's going on and the missing images are /images/loading.gif /images/closelabel.gif whether these are causing the problem, or some script that is executing after these are loaded, I'm having trouble determining. However the IE status bar does show that it's attempting to download /images/loading.gif at the time. I guess it could be due to LO returning 33KB of HTML as part of the 404 request. I tried requesting the 2 images above directly and there is a 403 Forbidden response, rather than the 404 response Fiddler seems to show when they are referenced from the page itself. I did dig around Google and apparently if you have Javascript that modifies the DOM inside the page, before the end of the HTML, it can cause this error. It appears that the MS KB does have a BUG entry for this at BUG: Error message when you visit a Web page or interact with a Web application in Internet Explorer: "Operation aborted" with no fix yet.

Blackhat will see this in a day or two. His driving job requires him to be away from internet access for a few days off and on. He always checks these threads, though, so he'll see it.

I have had a similar problem. A pop-up appears and says action aborted. I have also found when I try to get into the forums in other ways the internet often says it 'cannot dispaly page'. I have only been able to get to the forum a few times lately by doing google search for my own signature. This often results in 'cannot display page' though.
