If you click on '40k armies' or 'Warhammer armies' it does give you a general forum for those games.

I'd like to see army-specific forums abolished to get people contributing opposing arguments and points to threads about other armies. How an army works is not just about how you play it, but how your opponent plays against it.

But that probably won't happen...

I know of those, but to me it seems as if they are hiding. They aren't well exposed and are slow (at least to me) Maybe moving them so that they would get move traffic.

I do like the idea of not seperating the armies, but one problem with that would be Threads that are mostly one army will become lost somtimes before users who can relpy get on. One thing I find myself doing more and more is using the new posts search.

Agreed. For a long time I assumed they were just section headings until I ended up in one of the forums by accident.

I don't necessarily see that as a problem. The major sections are already heavily broken down into background/tactics/etc. forums, so as long as an army list forum was preserved alongside a 'general 40k/fantasy' forum, I think it would work. The number of topics listed on a page could be expanded a bit if it were likely to be a problem. I don't see LO currently getting the amount of traffic that will go beyond the 1st page in a 24 hour period.

I was going to make a seperate thread, but I saw this. So anyways, an idea for the Rules Development forums (of whatever game system).

Writing out profiles can be annoying, and takes up a fair amount of space. So my proposition leads us to TLA, home of LOTR wargaming. What they have is very cool. It's a profile thingy in with the other BBCode functions (so, it's up with the smilies, text colours etc). So I was wondering if it was possible that we got something like that. Here's a link to a thread that utilises that function:
Linky

So, what do you think? Is it possible that we could get something like that? Is it a stupid idea?

It's not a horrible idea, but I'm not sure it's worth the work to put in just for the Rules Development forum. As it is, the forum isn't used a whole lot, and something like that might inspire people to post more stats from codices in other forums.

I don't have the final say, though, and it is a neat little gizmo.

I think this still applies.

He's talking about the boxes that pre-organizes stats. If you scroll down in the posted link, you'll notice that there are boxes with model stats in them, nicely formatted and what not. Those are what he's talking about.

I like those boxes, looks nice and I dont think it would be a problem to create here as we can create our own bb code, then style it with css.
