LO Chat is very much an extention of Librarium Online and thus must be regulated by the same standards and principles.

Main Forum Rules

This a list of the rules at LO Chat. Please make yourself familiar with them.
The OPs will presume that everyone who uses LO Chat is familiar with these rules and thus subject to them. Ignorance of the rules is NOT an excuse.

1. Copyrighted material is not allowed!
No stats. No points costs. Do not ask for them and do not give them out.

2. No flaming or trolling
Should be easy to understand, but any one looking for trouble will very quickly find themselves looking for it elsewhere.

3. No spamming
As chat is live, the definition of spamming is a little different to normal posting. However, large repeated blocks of text and other obstructive material will not be tolerated.

4. Personal information must be kept secret and only disclosed if the member gives his/her consent.
This is a public forum to which everyone has access to. Sensitive information may only be released with express consent of the member.

5. The Chat room rating is PG - PG13
LO is meant to be a nice and friendly site with a PG to PG-13 rating. Be aware that the forum is frequented by members of all ages, nationalities, religions, and genders, and behave accordingly. We do not tolerate abuse or mockery toward other members or OPs, nor flaming or flame-baiting. Swearing is not allowed.

6. English only
As with LO itself, LO Chat uses the English Language. This does not include 'leeting'. Members are, of course, free to communicate using any language they wish while talking on private channels. While it's difficult to maintain spelling and grammar in a 'live' environment, please make an effort to.

7. Topics of discussions
As the chat room rating is PG 13, the topics discussed must also reflect this. There are certain topics which must not be discussed. These are: topics of a pornographic nature. Racism and/or sick jokes fall into this category and are not permitted.
Topics dealing with real life politics, sex or "recreational" drugs, blasphemy or theological flamewars are also not permitted and will be stopped as soon as possible.

8. No advertising
Please do not use the LO Chat to advertise.

9. Respect the admins
Although the Chat-Moderators of LO Chat may not be Forum Moderators, they still have the support of the administration of LO. So please respect them and their judgements. Their mission is to be fair towards anybody and everybody.

If you feel you have been wronged by a Chat-Moderator, then please contact another Chat-Moderator or a Supervisor on the main LO forum.

10. Have fun and relax

How to deal with problematic losers when a Chat Mod isn't present:

Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world, and there are sometimes trouble makers who seek to spoil things for others. On most occasions, the perpetrators tend to be inferior and/or faulty to normal people in several ways.

Normally, these losers are blasted out of the room by a Chat Moderator. However, there may be occasions where the Chat Mods are not available due to commitments in the 'real world'.

On these occasions if there is a problematic member, please take the following steps:

1. Record the offender's IP address (done by clicking on their profile)
2. Notify one of the Chat Mods by PM or Email.
3. Make a note of the time the offender was in the room (making sure to note your time zone).
4. We will investigate the situation and deal with the person accordingly as soon as possible.

Please note, LO takes this kind of offence very seriously, and I have it on good authority, that offensive behaviour in the Chat rooms can have an impact on the main LO forum too. The Chat Mods work in conjunction and with support from the LO Mod Team.
