As a HE player I bought the IoB set to get some elfs! But I love the skaven models, so I've got myself a skaven army book!
Here's my first attempt at skaven. 1500 points, that's the game size we play...
Grey Seer w/ Shadow magnet trinket.
Warlock Engineer lvl 2 w/ Warplock pistol, Warp energy condenser.
Chieftain BSB w/ Halberd.
Warlock Engineer w/ Death Globe.
30 Clanrats w/ FC, Shields, Spears, Doom flayer. (BSB here)
30 Clanrats w/ FC, Shields, Poisoned wind mortar. (Grey seer here)
50 Skavenslaves. (warlock wizard here)
50 Skavenslaves. (warlock here)
10 Gutterrunners w/ Slings.
Warp Lightning Cannon.
Warp Lightning Cannon.
Gutterunners and the cannons are self explanatory. Grey seer and the h'weapon and shield clanrats are a defensive spellcasting platform. BSB and the other clanrat unit is the offensive unit with alot of attacks. The two warlock+slaves are tarpits with a little magic for one of them and a one shot death globe for the other. last slave unit is for deployment. A meaningless unit to place first so I get an overview over my opponents deployment.
what do you think.
Not bad not bad, although they do say "NEVER" put characters into slave units, I use to think hiding characters in units of 50 was a great idea, but a canny opponant will exployt this and they will be running for the hills (tarpits aside, too often I see a flank ruin this plan).
I would also split the units of 50 into two, slaves are ment to die anyways, and it makes them just that bit more useful on the table.
Loveing the two lightning cannons
im sure somebody else will say about your characters so I wont steal their thunder.
hope this helps
I like it. Is the 25 Skavenslaves for cannon protection? To Tarpit any flankers and units that come in from the edge? If not you may consider getting rid of it and adding more models to your clan rats. I prefer a little more defense on the BSB, he is very important, and if I was facing you I would not challenge, but instead have my rank and file direct attacks at him. I love the twin WLCs.
Seems good to me. If you can, give the second warlock lv1 wizard. Maybe cut a few rats from other places to do this, and get rid of the death globe. But this is just based on personal opinion; do what you wish.
