Nothing [2 HWs are all they need!]
Poisoned Hand Weapon [deadlier blades]
Poisoned Throwing Stars [no penalties to hit, possible no AS]
Sling [more attacks = more good]
Throwing Stars [ninja!]
I have never taken a Skaven army without Gutter Runners. And years ago I would field the Deathmaster from time to time.
I vacillated between Tunnel Team or no and finally lighted on a Tunneling Team 7 strong as a standard. Now my only debate has to do with equipment - what do I give them? What does the best good against the most units? I've been running with slings most recently (x2 shots with ws4 has done me well) but had tried poisoned throwing stars over a few matches to great succes... march blocking +1 Empire Knights and even downing a pair of them at distance made my heart happy...
Anyway, I've been keeping my Runners out of combat mostly save against the odd war machine crew and have mainly utilized them for march blocking and peppering the enemy with missile fire.
So... how do you guys equip your Gutter Runners, if you use them at all?
Poison weapons, no compitition. The reason why is because that makes them more useful. This allows them to not only wizard or war machine hunt as they normally do, but they can now also take down higher toughness units such as giants. Just as long as their tunnel doesn't fall down of their little furry heads.
Ditto, the poison will be useful to kill any "back line" unit.
