I just received a good amount of skaven miniatures for my birthday/christmas, and i've nearly completed the assembly stage. I'm working on doing a standard Skryre army, but I can't decide what colors i want to use. I'm horribly indecisive and some outside input will help immensely. Looking forward to comments. Thanks for the help
green is best!
earthy colors are never a bad idea you could go with an araby rat theme !
Skryre you say? The skaven themselves obviously in browny tones ( all skaven the same fur, or different tones ) . You could try bestial brown or Calthan brown and then a wash of devlan mud ( nice and easy ) . For cloth etc. there are some colors that look nice with the brown Skaven fur.
Other tones of brown. But thats boring
A browny green. Catachan green for example.
Browny red. Dark flesh, blood red mixed with brown etc.
It depends a bit, are there a few army colors you are considering? There are some colors you shouldn't even be thinkig about, like blue!
Well, mostly i just want my army to be unique, but the Araby idea intrigues me. I'll take a look at some Arabic clothing and go from there.
I would definetly suggest at least making your slaves all in the same color clothes. I made all my slaves wearing bubonic brown outfits, and they look really cool. For skrye i would go with blues or purples, but that may just be my love of bright colors.
The only Skyre model I have at present is a Warlock Engineer, and I did his robe in a nice deep purple. He looks great, and i'm considering this for future Skyre purchases.
Just my 2 cents.
