New to Skaven 1000pts list HELP!

Warlock Engineer, blades, UWEC, SWPA, storm daemon-110pts

Warlock Engineer, blades, UWEC, SWPA -85pts

    Chieftain, BSB, Heavy Armour-74pts

    23 clanrats, Standard, Musician, ratling-205pts

    24 clanrats, Standard, Musician - 135pts

    20 slaves-40pts

    20 slaves-40pts

20 monks, additional hand weapon, FC, Bunner of Burning Hatred-210pts

    WLC - 100pts

    total-999pts

what do you think of the list? the heros will join the clanrats with slaves in front as fodder, plague monks on the side for a nasty charge and WLC targeting multi-wound monsters/heros/heavly armoured troops. Warp lightning targeting 5+ or better armoured troops so they don't get armour. Ratling gun target anything in range with 2 or 3 dice depending

Spells cast with Storm Daemon first followed by the warlocks each on 3 die on higher tier

Played a few 750pts armies with friends and my slaves have always been the best part of my army, they've taken out a giant/rat ogre/rat pack all in the same 750pts battle before, even after my WLC misfired and killed 5 of my own slaves when i've been aiming at my opponents slaves. ppl tend to aviod the monks, so they usually don't even see battle. And Skaven magic have always killed more of my troops then my opponents. WLC have a tendency of rolling strength 10 but be exactly 1 inch short. Typical Skaven???

Only bought the skull pass set and a battlion at the moment, what do you think should be my next buy? I hate metal and is on a quite small budget

    thoughts? thanks

IIRC You need to have another chieftain to be general, since the model with the highest leadership is your general.

This should really be in the armylist section!

Why can't a warlock engineer be the army general?

I would scrap the Chieftain and take a plaguepriest with something to negate armour saves.

Character with highest leadership is army general... which means the cheiftan is by default.

According to the FAQ on The GW site, one model may not be BOTH the General and the BSB. Must be two seperate characters.

Your idea of a Plauge Priest would fit the general role. Same LD as the chieftan, leaving the cheiftan to be the BSB

You made me unsure, so I chucked out the question here:

Hence a Warlock engineer will become general.
