As the title suggests i am currently building a doomwheel, that is official kit not scratch build, i'm just doing the display model for my local store, it's all assembled and under coated, if anyone wants pics then just reply and i'll sort some out.
the main reason i'm starting this topic is to let people know about the model, firstly, detail, the detail on this model is amazing, i believe many of the components could be used creatively, however there are few customisation options for the model it's self.
assembly, i had nineteen pages of fairly poor instructions to deal with, and i had to assemble the wheels twice, but regardless, it's done now so i can provide completed and undercoated pictures.
painting considerations, DON'T STICK THE WHEELS ON!!!!!, the wheels should really be attached after the 'cockpit area' is painted, they block quite alot of the detail within the wheel, unfortunately i didn't think about it practically when i put it together, so i'll have to paint it as a single piece, damn.
I have one question for you- how easily do you think it could be converted to a snotling pump wagon?
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
um, well, because the wheel is rat driven, you would have to either scratch build a connection from however the wagon is driven to one of the many sets of gears around each wheel, or, you could infact replace the rats which are inside the wheels, with snotlings, which would be quite an amusing little addition and would consequently envolve far less work.
i think everything else would be easy to remedy, the various warpstone 'things' are all detatchable, with very little effect on the structure of the model, and the driver/pilot is attached to his chair but is made of three pieces left side with left half of chair, right side with right side of chair and abdomen, so it would be fairly easy i think to fit a snotling inplace of the driver.
so in answer, yes, and fairly easily.
