So, A new book, lots more rules, general souping up of units and some rules for units without models...
Units without models??? this calls for modelling!
I have already assembled one poisoned wind mortar (non used dwarf cannon barrel + scratch made frame, tilted at 60 degree angle) and will be using normal globadiers for the two man crew. For the Hellpit abomination, I am considering buying a chaos spawn and fusing left over Skaven arms, legs, tails and heads to it.
What are your ideas for modelling the new units without models?
The Poisoned wind Mortars have some artwork in the book. It basically looks like 2 Poisoned Wind Globadiers, but one has a small mortar strapped to his back and the other one is loading the cannon. I would try and put them on a cavalry base just like the other weapons teams.
For the Abomination, the artwork is just a huge mass of things stuck together. Because of it's profile and characteristics, I would assume that the model is meant to be the size of a giant base. This has tactical advantages as well, as you are able to hit more models with some of its abilities. Spawns aren't exactly what I would consider to be "Large Targets", they're more in the realm of ogre-sized.
Fantasy: Daemons (Angels), 40k: Black Templars

Ah but after I add all my furry arms/legs/heads/tails, it will be
Does it mention anywhere what the base size should be? In warhammer fantasy the base size is actually very important. I think most large targets use the same size of base so I would recommend going off of that.
Tomb Scorpion Kill Counter: Gotrek Gurnisson, Empire Cannon Crew=3, Blood Knights=2, Saurus Cavalry=5, Saurus Warriors=3, Razordons=3, Skink warriors=7, Jezzails=8, Poison Wind Globadiers=10, Warp Lightning Cannon=1
whats the base size for the doom-flayer? its a weapon team so im thinking cavalry base, but in the artwork its a semi round tunneling device pointing twords an ogre sized base.
WoC have been out for almost one whole year (still counting) and they still dont have all their models out....its going to take them forever to get to the rest of the Skaven models
I had a thought for the abomination (though it doesn't relate to the art work), I found a carnosaur lieing around and I think i might cut off it's head, and then make a Rat-Ogre Shaggoth by adding a Rat ogre torose where the head was, and then doing what they did in the old Hell Pit Army list for fur (I believe they used flock/static grass on the model to create fur and painted over it).
i was going to get the empire cannon/mortar kit, convert the morter to plague mortar and cannon to warpfire thrower
yeah, but the reason is for my skyre army the thrower is better fluff-wise, but still, a good idea
