Welcome to Librarium Online!
I cant seem to find a clarification on if its one or the other. It dosent seem to be a chariot, even though its on a chariot base and moves like a chariot...but it dosent say its a warmachine...
Does any of you sneaky ratlings, have an answer?
Well i hope it's a warmachine because chariots die way to quick with a s7 hit..
I believe it is a warmachine. As in the faq they say it moves "like a chariot". Implying a similarity but not identicality. So basically you pivot and charge like a chariot though you can charge in any direction, as clarified by the faq but you don't die outright to str 7 hits
im going war machine that moves like a chariot.
I think it's a chariot because it is basically the same. Plus it doesn't die if it flees, nor is it move or fire. However, the Screaming Bell and Plague Furnace are not. War machines are crap at close combat, nor do they have impact hits. The annoying thing is the S7 hit, but when are you going to get that, apart from cannons? There also needs to be some way to kill it. It'd be stupid if it was almost invincible for 150 points.
But it's not invincible. You just shoot it to death. Or hit it on the flank and fight it from there. As for the plague furnace more than the screaming bell just work around it. Slip on its flank and charge there and the thing is neutered
its T6, better than any chariot, it is also WAY bigger than any chariot so no, i dont think it should just die from one S7 hit.
It is neither a war machine or a chariot. If anything it is a monster.
I wouldn't say a monster, and I'm still going with chariot. It's a special, more powerful chariot but nonetheless it is a chariot. S7 hits are annoying, and what I said before was incorrect. It can be killed in many different ways. But the enemy would have to use all his elite troops on trying to kill it, and I bet they are worth more than 150 points. That allows other killing machines like another Doomwheel, HPA or a PF/SB to go through without them being harmed much in any way. Not only that, when an enemy comes close, they get zapped!
Q. What is the Doomwheel's Unit Strength? Is it a
A. Even though it is quite monstrous, it is not a
monster, and its Unit Strength is 5.
Q. Doomwheel. The special rule ‘Rolling Doom’,
which describes the Doomwheel's random
movement does not include the part ‘pivot [...] to
face the direction in which you wish it to travel
and then roll 3D6; this is how many inches
directly forward the creature will move’ that is
used when, for example, the Hell Pit Abomination
is described. Does this mean that you are allowed
to move it like a regular chariot (i.e. that you may
pivot and move in any order) and that only the
movement allowance is determined randomly?
A. Correct! Remember that, just like a chariot, it can
pivot only once during a charge.
The Doomwheel, is in fact, a Doomwheel, it is netiher monster nor chariot. It is simply what it is, much in the same way that a Hydra is a Hydra, and a Hellpit Abomination is a Hellpit Abomination. It has features of chariots, and is quite monstrous apparently, but is in fact neither.
