Just wondering what you've found the best setup of items for a Skaven warlord are.
I haven't tried it out, but ASF sword, enchanted shield, talisman of preservation, potion of speed, and a rat ogre bonebreaker seems effective in theory. ASF with initiative 7 and i10 for 1 turn, 3+ and 4++ saves as well as a monstrous infantry mount. Fast, dangerous and hard to kill.
Any ideas on this or suggestions for other builds would be welcome.
I do not normally take a warlord, (I got mad love for my Grey Seer) But at higher point games I may take one to throw into a unit of stormvermin. I usually run him with the warpstone agumented weapon, sometimes thats all, sometimes some sort of ward save. This gives him some extra punch, and adds a great deal to the vermin unit. I've been considering Running one on a warlitter though, but have not given any thought as to other equipment.
Your build seems to be overdoing the speed factor to me, But i have not tried anything like this so I do not have any hard facts for you.
Ah, no that's a very good build - With ASF and higher initiative You re-roll missed to hits. It's gold Dust.
My other favoured weapon is Warlock Enhanced Weapon
But, I will not set foot on a battlefield without a War Litter (Bonebreaker 2nd as per my collection).
It's freaking awsome. For between 34-36 points you get $ stormvermin attacks that can never be removed, fight in challenges, add +1 save and take up 5 no more slots in a unit (sometimes handy - that's a rank!)
Oh, the -1 attack in baser contact talisman is great too
Other fun builds are fencers blades and Rival Hide Talisman (hit me on 5's then re-roll your successes! tee hee!)
I am fond of increasing their strength If I can - with the many attacks and high Init it needs a hand to win those fights sometimes.
Oh, and the weapon that doubles wounds is great
As a ABSOLUTE staple always take a tail weapon. For only a pinch with no drawbacks have another (non-magical etc) attack.
When mounted it's really easy to get a 2+ save (Heavy Armour - Check, +1 mount - check - Dragonhelm and shield ? Enchanted Shield?)
For a cheap combat option Halberd / extra HW, Tail Weapon and poisoned attacks works as well.
Every time you but a warlord just think - could you have two chieftans?

I'm opting for a sword of might, talisman of preservation and the Crown of Command.
Reasonably killy, reasonably hard to kill and makes his horde of stormvermin stubborn .
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
