Is taking a Grey Seer in a 1k list harsh? I know he'll be naked save D3 warpstone tokens (250 lord limit) but the ability to bring the 13th spell to the table in that size game...
Think it's reserved for the big boys saying that I've come across plenty of 1k empire lists with 2 motars and 2 cannons played by every novice.
It's risk-reward. He will tear it up in the magic phase, but he will be naked and open to miscasts and anything else that can hurt him. You could go with the safer option of two warlocks, or a warlord, but that's not very skaveny. Who plays it safe? The whole idea is to blow up your opponent with extreme disregard for your troops.
